[rp] Small Beginnings - [9/9] Players - Applications Closed

The door opens, and a gruff man looks out.
"Whaddya want?" He asks, in a harsh tone.

KuLu
You enter the temple, and walk along it's seemingly deserted hallways. The air is musty, and dank, and it's stiflingly hot. You soon reach a room, decorated with strange masks, rain sticks, and other oddities.

How do you know that's the way to go?

You pause, then walk on. If it's a corrupted, you can kill it easily, and if it's not, no point in letting it know you've seen it.

Damien
The man looks up, with a confused expression on his face. "Unhappy? Why? If anything, I'm unhappy about our King."

Seeing as everything is fine, I walk over and say, "S... sorry for the delay... I h-had to get someth-thing..."

 

I start going towards the masks to see them better

 

*Waiting for them to end their conversations in Nemract to destroy it* (I'm so... so... SO DIABOLIC ! HAHAHAHAHAHA) (I think it's because of their conversations, I don't know why otherwise)

 

Herbert readies his staff, Emerald, and unsheathes his short-sword, Blood-Scar, and stealthily heads toward the entity. He starts to charge up a Meteor spell before he makes is there, careful not to cast it in case it is an innocent.

 

Herbert
You creep forwards. Suddenly, the shadow steps out from behind a large jungle plant of some sort. It looks to be a soldier.
"You. You're sneakin' around. Why?"
He has the emblem of Troms emblazoned on his shoulder.

"The horde is smaller than usual."
"Yes." A pause. "It's converging on the port city of Nemract."
"Do we have anyone?" Another pause. "Spies?"
"Two, in fact. The first is called Gordon. A common name. Won't stand out. The second... you know."
"...Very well."
"Will you do something about.. it?"
"...Yes."

 

OOC: 1st. Well R.I.P. Nemract. And two, lets go.

Herbert instantly extends his staff backwards and releases the Meteor spell safely. Herbert replies to the soldier, "I am just making my way to Troms to help. Who knows what lurks behind every corner now. Corruption is spreading like, well, the plague and with Nemract only recently rebuilt Wynn has had better days." He sheaths his short-sword and salutes the soldier, then outreaches his arm for a handshake, "Nice to meet you on such random occasions, I am Herbert Mathias Mc. Swalton Berdale, resident mage."

 

Uhh.. Instinct?

 

What? Umm...Have I misunderstood him? Surely my ears haven't failed me.
"Really? I don't believe that grunting
when somebody enters the tavern is a positive expression." I say.

 

"Is that a way to greet a man about to give you whiskey?" I give him a small smile and show him the whiskey.
When smiling I for a splitsecond flash my Nightmare form teeth. The splitsecond is long enough for him to notice it but short enough that he will question if he actualy saw it and what he saw.

Also a quick note:
I feel like I should say that people of course can be afraid of Somnum without him using Nightmare. If they are already afraid Nightmare works additive :)

Also on another note being affected by Nightmare for longer time can cause different kinds and levels of madness ;)

Actually, no. I was thinking about using the word, as it was the best way to describe the atmosphere (like... heavy, dry humidity, if that makes sense). I didn't want to use it because of Dank Memes, but... I had to XD

The guard nods suspiciously.
"..I'll escort you, then," he says, in a rough voice.
A: Go with the guard
B: Attack the guard (or say no)
C: Free choice

 

A: Herbert starts to walk with the guard down the path toward Troms and tries to start some casual banter, "So how did you end up over here?" Herbert asks.

The guard just stares at you.
