I quickly turn and take up the chant with the other Feldurim

 

"Nice . By the way , as Rogues i think you guys steal as you did with me" I say in a kind of accusative tone "But what else? I mean , you sneak people in other provinces , but that cant be all you do right?" I say chuckling a bit

 

"Ah, yes your majesty. Whatever it takes to assist you with sleeping easy," Sena replies to the Queen.

(oh shit did i miss the first alert? my bad)

 

"Explosives work on the beast, but that doesn't take care of its soul." I say.

 

Fen'ris runs towards Sylphaxaura to shank her.
In the process, he also shouts for the Aurallians to attack.

"I won't argue that he's a bit of a liability," I say. "However, he'd be extremely useful if he has knowledge of what we're up against. If we fight blind, we'd have a better chance against an S-Class Kitsune." (I'm guessing those are powerful)

 

"Who is this witch you talk about?" I say to Lynn while following her.

 

Jack seems to struggle for a bit. He is quite conflicted about which choice to make, but reaches a conclusion: "That offer is very tempting. I would love that, but I know just as well as you do that they wouldn't see me as a friend. Even if we told that Xiudar isn't alive inside me. And I don't actually like that option. I have accepted him and I'd like others to do the same. I'm sorry Lucian, but it won't work. Thank you for the offer though."

 

"Pride, Greed, Wrath, Gluttony, Lust, Envy, Sloth..." Octavus murmurs. "I met them... underground..."

"Underground?" Remilia asks. "Where?"

"I..." Octavus's eyes widen. "I..."

At the end of the hall, musicians start to play a quite melody. Octavus gasps and sinks down into his chair, hugging his knees. On his hand gleams a golden ring that he has been wearing since Rathius had met him in Lasdor.

"A figure whom we do not know the name. People dressed in black and purple robes and a mask, as well as monsters started roaming the Kurubiq in the name of this Witch, killing everything."

"But..." Lucian looks up. "Aurallim needs the help of the Giants. They are our only chance against the monsters of Rehniar. We can never reach the war clan's chief with humans alone. I thought if you came with us and we found people like you, we might be able to reach him and convince him."

 

"What's wrong Octavus?"
I place my hand on his head.
"Is it the music?"

 

"Thak you for telling me. This had been one of the most eventful days in my life and I have never been on the ground for this long."

 

"But... I'm actually not sure I want to support Aurallim anymore. I mean. Some monsters probably deserve to die, but Aurallim is against all monsters. Even good people like Xiudar."

 

"It could be the music. But why..." I begin. I scan the musicians for anyone suspicious.

 

Luratos shouts, "I unbind you, Jenna!" With a golden flash of light, Jenna appears and she starts towards Ilcia, who is closest to her. Airin goes there also. Cylessa screams and throws both her scythes at Sylphaxaura. The monster deflects them away.

Jenna bites her lip. Airin screams in loss and sorrow. Ilcia was gone. Kendel is already kneeling next to his brother when Jenna comes to the fallen elf. Wyrmin has survived, so Jenna heals him using one of her energy-stored gems. Wyrmin is dragged to the side, out of the battle.

Mike leaps up and bites down into one of the minor centipedes, coursing electricity through the monster. Mike comes next to Luratos.

"Mike." Luratos turns to the Delvolar. "Jenna must be unbound if she is to help those who falls to that monster. Will you let me bind you, only in the duration of this battle?

Fen'ris ducks Sylphaxaura's scythe as he brings his leg down onto one of Sylphaxaura's hundred legs. (I swear it's so pointless)

Sylphaxaura suddenly stops moving forward. Basil screams in Fen'ris's mind, SCAR, BEHIND US!

Scar's two front legs automatically forms an X just as one of Sylphaxaura's largest scythe falls onto Fen'ris. A loud crack echoes around. Scar screams again. Fen'ris roars in pain and rolls forward, getting away from Sylphaxaura. The monster swings another of her scythe from the front. Fen'ris, having no choice, brings up his daggers and Scar's tail, forming an X with a line through the centre.

A shock courses Fen'ris's body, and he is sent back into the air. Scar screams again, then her presence disappears from his mind. Behind Fen'ris, a flash of purple, and Scar herself, bleeding from all over her body, is sent tumbling back to the ground.

Basil swears. She became unbound! There's no way you can use her in weapon form!

Abro knows that the spell is complete, as your body mana is taken away to fuel the spell. All at once, the magicians cry, "Letta!"

The blade flashes with bright light with a clink. The blade falls down at the red slime monster, piercing its body through. The blade sinks deep into the ground. The slime gives a deafening screech, then it bursts outwards, sending smoking red flesh all over the place. Luckily the Feldurim were away from the blast range.

Bells start ringing from the tower. Abro looks up. "There're still people up there!?"

"Of course, Feld Watchtower is something we can't easily abandon!" A voice cries behind Abro. A man, who looks a bit younger than Abro, stands behind him.

Cries of shock starts from the Feldurims. Alarmed, Abro looks back at the destroyed slime-monster.

Something rises from the smoke. A huge humanoid shape, at least five meters tall, stands up from the carcass of the slime.

Ember scratches his head. "We Rogues aren't supposed to steal from common people, only in organised groups and against the rich and greedy. We distribute the stolen goods and money to the poor."

"Then what were you doing?" Tisaun asks, appalled.

"That's one reason Max was kicked from the Rogues." Ember murmurs, smiling. "I bet she told you that she left on her free will. That's not the case."

Can I really trust this guy? Tisaun thinks.

"Good." The Queen says. "you are dismissed. Please follow Firnen."

Firnen bows to the queen, then starts to walk towards the doors. Sena hurriedly follows.

"And Sena?" The Queen calls. Sena looks back. The Queen smiles weakly. "Please do not die. You are precious to me and the people of Al Eminur."

Sena turns, smiles a bright smile, and bows. Then she hurries after the war hero.

They reach the squad quite early. Around thirty elves are on the site. "Where is the rest, may I ask?" Sena asks Firnen.

The war hero keeps walking. "The other thirty-eight will join us on the way."

Then Firnen turns back. "I will ask you this, Sena of the Sylv house. How do you fight. Do you use magic, or summon nature spirits? Or do you fight physically? If so, how and with what weapon?

Bekran nods to Akri. "Report to the King, and take these two. Explain the situation."

Akri brings a fist to his heart and lifts his chin. "There will be no higher honour, General Bekran. Though, whom shall report to the other generals..."

"I will send someone. Now go; my father will be impatient for news." Bekran says, the spurs his ram. The King's son starts towards the other soldiers, roaring commands.

Akri turns to Uadlokii and Vyrdiin. "You've heard him. We will go to the King. I know I have no right to tell you this, but please do behave in front of him. He has a generous heart, but will not hesitate to strike you down with his own hands if you show any signs of hostility or malice."

"No, not the music." Octavus says. "I..."

Suddenly a vision overtakes everyone on the table.

Seven figures, all clad in black cloaks, stand in a dark room, in front of a cage. Inside the cage sits Octavus, younger. The figures stand at different heights and stands still. The figures at the center move to the side, making way for a young girl wearing a black dress. Her skin is impossibly pale, and stands out in the dark room. The seven other figures bow low to the girl. She pays them no attention and starts walking towards the cage. She kneels down in front, looking into Octavus's fearful eyes.

"I created you, Eight. You will serve me." The girl says, expressionless. "I name you...."

Rathius blinks. The others all seem to be waking up from the vision. Octavus has now curled up, shivering.

"What's happening, Octavus?" Princess Remilia asks the boy.

A crash from the musicians. A young woman drops her flute and stands up. She lifts her hand upwards, then her whole body bursts into purple flames. Rathius jumps up from his chair."Pride!" He shouts.

"Yes, but my fairy, Lunava's magic won't let you back into the tornado form for at least a day. You can probably still summon air and wind, though."

They come toward the roots of the great tree Yggrdasil. Lynn leads Ventus towards one building, which then has a long wooden staircase leading upwards into the further town. Lynn faces Ventus again. "I can borrow Livada's magic to fly. Follow me, if you will."

Lucian looks down. "I understand. Where will you go?"

 

"Grab your weapons!" I say as I jump from my chair with my sword ready.

"We were planning to go to (Feldürim was it? Just pretend I said the right thing ^^)."

 

The moment Amun_Ra mentioned the girl had a pale skin, I thought it was the boy's sister

 

For me it was quite obvious pretty early on ^^

The new question now is: "Is Octavus the name The Witch gave him?" That name is very different from the sins names, so that is weird. I personally don't think that it is.

 

Tbh i can pretty much see her giving it that name cuz Octavus , Eight , its rlly clear for me (maybe cuz in my language Eight is Oito and Oito is rlly similar soo) Anyway i wonder what he can do
