[rp] Mortal 11/11

They reach the Amazon's sacred lands by sunrise. As they come closer, they pass a tall stone arch and some kind of barrier that circles a huge amount of land. They come out of the trees, and come in view of Yggdrasil. The tree is huge - the top of it cannot be seen in the clouds. The air feels different from the outside - more calm, and old. Around the roots of the tree is a town. The houses have been built on various parts of the tree's roots, while some are even built on the trunk. There are a few doorways into the tree's bark. Maybe it was hollow inside.

"Welcome to Aflanheim, the home of the Amazons." Lynn mutters as they enter the town.

"The best way would be to break its soul when we destroy its body, before it regenerates," Vyrdiin says.

They come into the town of Ogovith. The dwarves announced the fall of Truskan, much despair to the fallen town's citizens. As the civilians are taken to the inner city, a dwarf wearing a golden helm and riding on a ram comes down from the upper pavement. "Akri!" The dwarf roars in a low voice. "What is the meaning of this?"

The dwarf has white hair and beard that come out of his helm, and a pair of intense, blue eyes unusual for a dwarf. He looks at Akri and folds his arms. "What had happened that Truskan was overrun? That gates has held for hundreds of years!"

 

Fen'ris shouts out to the NPCs, "Concentrate your fire on Sylphaxaura's head!"
"Hold on, Scar. Just hold on." Fen'ris says, shanking Sylphaxaura in one of her legs.

 

"You should have seen the Balrog. It was practically unstoppable." I say to the dwarf.

 

"Thats great . Off to a great start . Where are we going to?" I say after putting my things in the backpack . "I would like to say its nice to meet you but we still gotta see about that"

 

"The only thing this war is gonna brig is death. Lots of it." Jack says being less cheerful.

 

I shake my head, then rise. "I am Asakeryu, a Kitsune from Kurubiq. I was recruited to aid Rehniar, taking a break from my peaceful and happy lifestyle, so I would appreciate a little respect. Being a skilled combatant and student of military strategy, I think I would be of more use than a common peasant. If you are of such a high status, why not show some manners?"

I sit down, irritated. Under my breath, I mutter, "I can already tell he and I will get along poorly."

 

Roasted.

 

Abro: "Keep attacking it! Everyone who isn't attacking get out of the tower!"

 

Remember, she is almost immune to direct magical attacks.

Narkel, High Elf who can use nature magic (plants, earth, some water)
Luratos with Jenna and Kaya
Mylith and Trianna, skilled with swords
Two Feldurims (they can control the Feldur element which can be used to control other stuff, like shooting rubbles, as well as building barriers and magical attacks)
Ilcia, who can make walls out of spiritual energy (Sylphaxaura herself can break her walls easily)
Cylessa, who is fast and has a pair of scythes on her arms that can detach and come back.
Airin, an ice spirit who can summon ice.
Six Aurallians with shields and spears and swords. Quite useful on Sylphaxaura, since she repels magical attacks

Sylphaxaura spins around, bringing one scythe from behind Fen'ris. Basil's vision saves the Vilphan as he ducks. Sylphaxaura screeches, then her tail rears up. From it, green liquid splashes out, raining down on the half section of the ruins. Luratos, Fen'ris, Ilcia, Airin, Wyrmin and Mylith are in the area.

"What Balrog?" The dwarf with the golden helm questions.
So Akri describes the battle. He then turns to Uadlokii and Vyrdiin, and says, "This is Bekran, the general of our army, and the first son of our king."

 

The Council looks at Asakeryu with extreme hostility. There are some in the meeting who are smiling. The Princess is one of them. Apparently the Council weren't that popular, even among the captains.

The King smiles faintly. "Please, we are on one side here. Are we not?" Murmurs. Rumilius sighs, then motions to the others.

Debulan introduces himself and the Hellbirds. The other six captains are Dreueus from the Kurnnot, Rouland from Tornedd, Elabell from Ramentr, Alina of Sarmir, Terric from Lasdor and Tibaut from Oaken.

"We will start from the war with Aurallim first." King Rumilius says. "What are the movements of the Aurallians, Captain Dreueus?"

"The borders itself has not been taken yet." The captain says. "Yet, there are small skirmishes sent that slowly weakens our defense. Our spies report of more and more soldiers flowing into Forden. If they attack using full force, we will fall for sure."

They talk about various subjects on Aurallim. Rehniar apparently has a lot of spies in Aurallim, but hearing the reports, Aurallim seems to be a tough foe to fight.

"What makes this war hard for us is that we cannot directly attack their towns without passing the Kurnnot, which we don't want to risk unless we have enough forces to bring Forden down." The King says. He then looks at the others. "Alright - captains, we will discuss further later. But I must bring up yet another problem, one rapidly rising. 'Tis the criminal group otherwise known as 'the Witch's Cult'."

"We have no time discussing some cult here!" Another man from the Council shouts. "We must focus all our efforts into Aurallim!"

"So you're against the war, Jack?" Lucian asks.

The Feldurims come closer to the monster to slash it. Suddenly, from the monster's skin, a tentacle-like thing comes out and curls around a Feldurim. It pulls the screaming man into its body. The others all retreat as more tentacles come out, managing to catch two more.

At this rate it will reach the tower.

 

Abro: "It's too late! Abandon the tower! We can't lose any more Feldurim!"

Saying this, I urge the surroundding Feldurin to run away from the tower, while also running myself

Dude! Who hurt you??

"I... I don't know. I was brought up with the war, just like you."

 

"Move!" Fen'ris howls to the others, running away from the blast and bringing with him the closest person.

 

"Thank you for leading me towards the great tree." I tell Lynn

 

I look at the man complaining, getting a little annoyed. "Just sit down." I mutter to myself.

 

"So you haven't noticed the fact that they've been committing mass murder for years?" I say angrily. "Listen, the cult is question is extremely powerful... And extremely dangerous. Who knows what they're planning. If we don't act, they could sneak up on us and fell Rehniar. We already encountered them on the way to the city, they're no pushovers."

I calm down. "I haven't seen magic similar to their's, and they're yet more deadly because we lack intel. At the very least, we can't ignore it. There must be a way to balance both... Also, I may have an idea for Aurallim. They've rallied their soldiers in Forden, correct? As the defenders, we can draw more use from the terrain. If we use the landscape to our advantage, we may be able to redirect them into Kurubiq... And I have quite a few friends there. I can rally them for an ambush if we can reroute them..."

 

"Hello your majesty." I do a slight bow.

 

"Hm." Lucian says as he looks down. "What were you doing out alone in the wild? I mean you and ...Xiudar, was he?"

 

Again the council is lost for words. Remilia slaps Asakeryu on the back. She looks extremely happy that the council is being roasted.

"he is right." Rumilius says. "Princess Remilia, and your companions, do you have anything to say about the Witch's Cult?"

 

"Yes. Xiudar."
"Well. We were just trying to find a home. Somewhere to live where people could accept us, as Aurallim isn't really an option anymore."
