"I'll just sit here and die then. If that's okay."
He lies down on the shop floor, cradling his hand. An important looking villager pushes the door open and gasps.
"What in the name of the Duke is happening here?", he yells.
The shopkeeper sheepishly gets up and walks over to the counter.
"Nothing, don't worry, nobody's getting attacked. He did", he gestures the mess on the floor and then to you. "uh, he did that."

They shrug and resume their game as you leave for the tent. The remaining papers are gone, replaced by crude furniture and a few Dogun books, all falling apart. The villager seems to have been covering his tracks.

Well, research has advanced to a point where any kind of touching works, so it would be a bit redundant.

I investigate every nook and cranny in the tent.
If i find something/get interrupted, I will stay in the tent

He looks at the greatsword on the floor.
"I see. I was wondering, sir if you I could have those suede Touroto robes over there?"
"No, didn't threaten anyone at all. Don't know what you're talking about - oh! The robes!"

The Villager, it seems, was very thorough - you can find nothing suspicious at all. You leave the tent and head back. You're just within earshot of the rally when a Dogun approaches you, holding a sheet of parchment and a quill.
"Excuse me, uh, sir? Do I call you sir? Anyhow - I'm investigating the theft of some papers from the Mayor's office. Would you mind answering a few questions?"

"I would be glad to. Just know you are doing the entire province a great disservice. Our valley is always open to you, should you choose the path of light. Shall we go back to the hall?"

 

I say to the villager that just entered
"So you're looking for the touroto robes also?"

 

"Yes I am. The King, the High Delegate, Togak - what if I'm next? And you? Been for a swim?"
"Sixty-three emeralds and forty-seven shards, sir. Uh, don't mind him, he's a - a robber."
"Is he now?", the man says, taking out a bag of emeralds.

"We could make a deal if I was sure that you would talk to the Delegation itself. I'm not even part of it, as far as I'm aware. And as far as I know, I'm also not a real High Delegate so is my opinion really valid?" Say that last part as a more rhetorical question, but let it open to answers.

I empty the papers from my backpack.

 

The other villager gives you a doubtful stare before counting out emeralds onto the table in groups of eight. The shopkeeper still looks furious at him.
"Pure slander! I would never lie, about murder attempts, my taxes or anything else people lie about. This will ruin my business!", the shopkeeper shouts at him as he counts under his breath.

"Much as I would like to dissect your nebulous platitudes, I get the sense that this dialogue's value to us both is diminishing by the second. I won't bother you any further - for now, at least."
He knocks on the door and you hear footsteps approaching it. A guard swings it open, bowing to each of you in turn (why he would bow to you, you don't know), and lets you in. Togak quietly returns to his seat. You find Hels in the middle of a heated discussion with Elimut as the guard directs you to a seat right next to him.

Abbot Tranki clarifies - "You aren't the High Delegate, you're standing in for her diplomatically. Your opinion doesn't matter- you are to negotiate a deal favourable to the Coalition."
Elimut nods. "The delegate for the North Gate is here in an observation role only. You represent the Coalition as a whole - and you seem to be eager to cause divisions within it."
As he says this, Rin and Togak enter through the main doors, Rin appearing slightly shaken as she walks towards you.

He gasps.
"Holy Nostrils of Garahah, you found them, - a tent, you say? Which tent?"

 

"Then I guess it's doomed." I start walking out the door

 

"What if what I'm saying here isn't because I eawa to cause divisions, and more because I have never been into any of this political non sense? Everything I said is about what I've seen and learned over the years, not because I studied behind a shelf for ages!" I say, getting outraged by the insult.
Reach a hand discreetly behind for Rin to hold if she wants to. "And I'm saying what I am because I believe everyone should be free to do whatever they want to, if it doesn't hurt anyone or anything in any ways. Maybe that's why I want to hear others and maybe that's why I'm not qualified for this."

 

"Follow."
I lead to the tent. On the way there, I give some exposition:
"When first peeked inside, villager inside. Villager ran but as villager illegal in dogun city I searched tent. Found these papers. Then, I told guard, but guard unintrested. Came back to tent. Villager covered up tracks, found nothing more. Then you asked papers."

 

"Hmph!"

Immediately make an attempt to fix my expression and posture to show that I'm fone and that nothing's wrong. :p
