She reluctantly takes one of the bowls and starts eating.
"So, a Torl rally. Never thought I'd be seen near one. But here we are. At least I have you."

The bookshelf is full of books on sociology. Certainly not what you're interested in. Esmé leans on your waist.
"I do a lot of reading too. Alone at Gylia - that and practicing for my shows."

He ducks, but no arrow is fired. The elf is running away, hidden from the guard's view but not yours. The guard looks around. "What the fuck was that about?"

 

"Haha yea. Let's just get this over with and then its back to Grinifez for us." I sit closely next to her

 

"Then you can go and read" I go to the next bookshelf

 

Tell him the story of the brotherhood

 

"Do we need to go back to Grinefez, though? It's never truly been my home, and I don't think it was yours, us both being from Garah and all. I can see us travelling the province together. Seeing the sights before they're lost to the Cataclysms."

This shelf is full of books about Gavellian wildlife. Esmé strolls across the room and just about manages to take a small book entitled "A Brief Introduction to Advanced Spellcasting" - by Elimut himself. She sits on the bed and starts reading.

As soon as you mention their name he laughs out loud.
"Sweet Garahah, I didn't know Villagers knew about that whackjob conspiracy theory!"
The elf is out of sight but you can still see his footprints in the ash.

 

Also give him the parchment thing and ask him what the dogun runes mean while watching his back

 

"How did you find that book so quickly and can I read I'll give you this one about wildlife in exchange"

 

He examines the parchment, still chuckling. "That seems to be in order. I'll escort you at once - oh, the runes. Just beaurocracy, authorisation to see the President and all. A lot of checks in that - needs to be impossible to forge. Follow me then." He sets of at a brisk walk towards the elf.

 

Alright, before I walk away, can you do two things for me?
One is to read this parchment for me as I cannot. Two, is it mean or are those footprints in the ash seem a bit new?

"Oh, I'm not interested in that. But we can share a book, can't we?"
She holds the book to the side and makes space for you.

 

"...I'll pass" I try to look for any other books about magic

 

"Hey - wait up!" He runs after you, a bit faster, and he presumably knows the area.
"That's not how clairvoyance works. You're hiding something!"
He draws his sword.

I smile
"Well I have lived in Grinefez for a while and I suppose im comfortable enough with it. Plus I still need to finish my time at the academy. I'd also like to have some kids before I go obsidian haha."
I reach for her hand
"I bet the cataclysms wouldnt be so rude as too destroy all of Gavel before we can see it."

 

Portals seem fun

 

"I can second that" Turn angrily to them.

 

I show my hammer.
”Brain damage. Only little taps needed in that.”

 

"I always thought adoption was more noble. There are dozens of orphans living on the streets of Garah right now, their parents killed by dragons, dwarves and whatever else. But comfort in these troubled times is difficult to come by, and should probably be cherished while we can. We must go at some point, though. Taking the rather thick tome off the shelf, you carry it through to Elimut's study, leaving Esmé awkwardly holding the book to accompany side on the bed. You sit on one of his very comfortable chairs and begin to read:

You stop. This looks it will be well beyond your capabilities for several years.

"Look we were just following orders." He mutters angrily. "Fucking Elimut, trying to overturn the Cinfras guard. Hates everything with an authority higher than him."

"Oh. Well, at least you killed it. What did you do with the tunic and the body? Can't say dwarves deserve any kind of dignity."

 

"Who's orders and what was the order?!"
They aren't trying to break in anymore?

 

”Burnt. Threw into lava.”

 

"You could have just gone undercover and knocked on the door!" Shout at him and look at Rin. Clean the blood again and turn to them.
"Nobody would've gotten hurt, much less killed!"
