Free speech is only granted by the government. ANY private entity can show you the door if they don't like what you say. Go ahead, shout your views from the rooftops, but don't be salty if a moderator says "we don't like that".

Now, your issue with Facebook is not one of censorship, but of the infamous "fake news" the President is spewing nonsense about. Corporations made their own fake stories and they were approved by Facebook's market for ads. Later, FB started a campaign to clamp down on this bullshit. It's still not gone, though. I'm on vacation in Florida right now, and I saw this stupidly sensationalist magazine:

Now, none of this is true, but can't you imagine how an undecided voter would look at this and think "Wow, Hillary is literally Hitler! I guess I have to vote for Trump now!"

 

I'm a strong advocate that if your company is so gigantic that the POTUS has an account on it, you should be forced by law to enforce neutrality of opinions and should be punished in some way if it's proven you're giving a side of an argument a better deal than the other.

An ideal free speech world would be a total divorce between personhood and opinions, you wouldn't be fired for stating X, you wouldn't be a social outcast, you wouldn't be refused book deals, ect.

Yeah, that's my problem with this, do you really trust Facebook or a company to give you an unbiased "quality filter" ?
The best solution isn't to make "truth filters", but to encourage people to seek it themselves, always double check facts, keep a skeptic and inquising mind, cross reference articles, don't read only one news outlet, and so forth.

People are lazy and stupid. They don't want to check their sources, even when we try and try to educate the masses. When lack of education gets you a Secretary of Education who can't do her job, that's a problem. Facebook is doing what it can but can people please stOP BEING STUPID OK

 

Twitter actively censors trending topics that they don't agree with; #DNCLeaks was booted off after a bit of trending, some Gamergate hashtags too I believe. They also use "vague" banning techniques, as well as a quality filter which purpose isn't yet very clear.

I don't use facebook. There's no reason to solely trust it for unbiased reporting. So, people, please be less stupid and check your sources.

My view:
-People protested against trump
-Media starts to get biases
-People start to put logic against the biased statememts
-People start to blame liberals for this, along with liberal (left-wing) media
-Some left-wing supporters get angry
-Right-wing supporters say that their "butthurt" and to deal with it, despite their just making it worse
-More distrust on left-wing media grows

So in my view, its people shaming other people because of their views due to things their party did
