Returning Player Looking for Some Help

Heya all! I'm a returning player from back in like 2013, and I was a huge fan of it back in the day. I bought a rank and everything, and had completed the story all the way up to killing Bob. It's been a very long time since I've played, and I have a few questions for people that are currently active!

1. What has been added since the Bob storyline? I assume there's been a lot more introduced to the game since then.

2. What should I focus on doing as a returning player? I'm kinda overwhelmed atm with relearning all of the places that I need to go and stuff, so having some direction would be very helpful.

3. What is a Vet rank? I assume it has to do with me being a player from a long time ago but what does it actually do?

4. What happened to VIP Town? When I went there it looked completely gone and there were a bunch of dead mobs there.

5. Is nether armor still rare? I remember it being removed and I had a shop set up for it back in the day, is it still worth a ton?

2. Is 100% recommend making a new class and starting again. As you said it’s all really confusing and so much has changed, that that’s just the best option to learn
3 4 and 5 idk, but I’m pretty sure vip town was removed

 

3. People who bought a rank before the EULA updates by mojang received it. It doesn't do anything, just changes the tag from HERO to VET or VIP+ to VET
4. Yep, it got removed. Iirc it actually got written into the lore and has a secret discovery about it now.

 

1. A lot has been added, yeah (i.e. Slykaar) although the original Ragni's Library thingy is still in game (I don't remember if it was altered a little from Grian's thread about Bob or is identical but it's at least really similar).
4. Yeah, it got turned into a secret discovery, in which it's attacked and destroyed by the EULA a group of corrupted. Besides that, it's just the ruin you found on the way to Detlas now.
5. I'm pretty sure nether armor is now just a set you can get by killing mobs around the roots of corruption, I don't think it's that common but mostly just because no one bothers to get it since there are better sets (like adventurer's, which is also still a thing and now obtainable from any mobs or loot chest at the level) at that level.
