    The Problem

min-maxing has long been a part of wynncraft. however, the current design makes certain items very rng-dependent, with no viable way of obtaining a perfect roll. despite the introduction of items like the corkian amplifier, simulator, and insulator, they barely help and are insufficient. crafted items are also not exempt from this issue.

    My Proposal

replace current reroll with a system featuring a menu that allows players to combine two identical items into a better one, similar to how enchantments can be combined for higher tiers in vanilla minecraft. this approach will increase the value of duplicated items and ensure that existing god rolls remain valuable due to high demand. additionally, making initial rolls slightly worse than the current system should be considered if the ease of obtaining perfect rolls starts to raise balance issues. also remove that ugly [<number>] tag at the end of an item.

    when combining:
    • if both items have the same id value -> +5% (clamped to the maximum possible value)
    • if one item has a higher value than the other -> retain the higher value.
    ---

what about corkian amplifier, simulator, and insulator? will they become useless?
but what about the dozens of emeralds i've already spent on rerolls?

    (corkian amplifier)
it can remain as it is, but it should only be usable during the initial roll.

    (corkian simulator)
this should allow players to reroll without duplicates, meaning every ID value gets a +5% boost.

    (corkian insulator)
    :skull:

regarding previously spent emeralds, it's up to the admins to decide. but based on my past experience, when the stat reset scroll (which used to cost 1LE) was made free, i wasn't compensated. this was during the pre-gavel era when LE was very valuable — you could buy an entire end-game armor set with just a couple of LEs.

The endgame of wynn is basically just collecting better items and this would shorten it hugely, yeah getting good items is super rng based but this isn't a good fix

not a great start if you're trying to convince us
tell that to the increasing number of godly mythics and the fact simulators cost 1stx and insulators over 2stx of LE

but items are abundant especially after the lootrun update? prices will go down because highly rolled items will be more commonplace

It's a necessary indicator because subsequent rerolls stack up in price to to balance the convenience of not having to go out and obtain the item again. How would players know it's safe and not expensive to reroll an item otherwise?

    ---

What would stop an incredibly rich player such as myself - and there is no shortage of us - from buying out entire supplies of items to boost our own? Possibly making it very hard for less wealthy players from accessing even basic roll items?

    its still rng dependant.

wynncraft's market is very stale, especially when you compare it to hypixel skyblock. there are multiple factors behind this, but the main reason, i believe, is that there is literally no point in buying duplicates. in skyblock, for instance, if you want to get 10/10 attributes, you'll have to buy tons of crimson isle armor pieces.

yeah but now that rerolls gone, it can go as well. i wasnt very clear about this in the post, mb.

think bigger. less wealthy players can sell their stuff. if some rich player starts buying out entire supplies, money cycles.
also, the current god rolls' insane price is even more gatekeeping, ngl.

That is intended? They aren't supposed to guarantee godly rolls

I disagree. I don't think it's as stale as you imply. Just today I logged on and Corkian Amplifier IIIs (which I've been purchasing for 32 EB per and stockpiling) doubled in price and the supply seemingly vanished. Stonks for me

On Friday, Corkian Insulators halved in price from 2.25stx to under 1.25 and continuing to fall.

    This is wrong.

Do you expect me to know what these are? I've never played Skyblock

    Whar...??!

What do you mean "gatekeeping"? ...? Players earn money one way or another to afford the high cost of high-roll items... what about that is gatekeeping? It's supply and demand.

    ...what?
This seems like a bad idea. Also, possibly Skyblockpilled.
    I don't like this. Downvote.
