This quest was by-far one of the ost unpleasent quests i have ever done.
This is the type of quest that you go fetch items that are so far away from eachother and then give them for a couple of xp and one le
This quest should be removed or re-done i absolutely dont like how it is made. It isnt even that fun for me

    That's my opinion. I don't like it

In depth explanation why i dont like it:

    You go to chef ramsey
    Go chose a chef
He gives you the recepie book
You go fetch 3 items across sky islands or even further
    Come back
    Get rewards
    Done

It doesnt have a story aswell.

Imagine if you where an assasin
No fast mobility spell like archers leap warriors charge or mage's Teleport

How annoying would it be to travel everywhere?

The quest was ment to be a fetch quest, but a FUN fetch quest.
I think personally that Natty succeeded in doing that.
Every item has something cool to it, not just; go here, pick up item, go to next location. Every item had some kind of gimmick to it which made everything cool

    Seriously?

I dont like fetch quests one bit personally
The gimmicks just made it worse
It made the quest longer and more stressful

Also no hate for @Nattea i was really pissed when i made the thread.

Okay so I'll try to explain some things and hopefully clear some stuff up.

This quest was started back in April as a more concise idea but eventually grew into quite a recipe for disaster. I was gone for quite a while due to school and the update only really managed to squeeze in the quest barely. However, this does not immediately remove all valid arguments, that would be dumb. I acknowledge the mass of things that could be done to fix this quest.

Before I go into this, let me explain some things which I have a bit of an excuse on:
The quest first and foremost, is about the exploration and experience. It's more about jumping into how the world of the sky islands is a chaotic place where no one really knows what will happen next. However, the aforementioned wonky quest dev time because of my schedule and in general myself, only one of the paths really stands out to me as being such an enjoyable experience. I have thought about perhaps redoing parts of the less favourable paths to make them more like aforementioned one, where you truly went on an out of this world journey. I wanted it to feel open-ended and like you were really going out there and gathering ingredients for a dish against an old friend of yours, rather than just picking up a thing or two. You could change your mind when making dishes as you could normally, limiting someone to one thing isn't exactly great, especially at such a high level. On the point of travelling: It's very difficult to fit so many ingredients in a small space, meaning some spreading out was necessary. No fun in getting everything in a 50 block radius. Enough rambling however.

One of my goals as a GM is to make things that go outside the norm that people are used to. My first quest, The Bigger Picture, I feel, did that. It was something that people didn't really see or experience before in Wynncraft. When it came to Recipe for Disaster, I wanted to see what I could do with a a multi-path quest, something the system couldn't really handle without being very "ghetto". It turned into a fetch quest pretty early in development, in a situation where I wondered what could be done with a fetch quest to make it feel "fresh". It seems that I have only really partially succeeded with this feat. Perhaps the name reflects the quest and the situation behind it, in a twist of irony and perhaps fate?

Back to reality though, while it does hurt my ego to say it but the quest does in-fact, have numerous flaws which could do with some fixing. Perhaps if time and such allows it, I could try and accommodate myself for such changes. Perhaps not in the immediate future, but maybe some day. Who knows, the quest could feel much different if the paths were reworked here and there, providing a more interesting experience. Again, I cannot guarantee any of this for sure, it's all speculation and wild dreaming.

    Happy cooking,
    Natty.

My opinion about the quest depends heavily on which route you choose. I chose Frank, and I will say right now that getting the items was NOT enjoyable.

First, while a short walk, I had to deal with a ton of high-hitting Archons and a Black Dragonling while trying to find a piece of wheat in the battlefield. If you think that was bad, after collecting the Grook Egg I was sent into an even worse battlefield with more overpowered dragon tanks and the stupid Archons. (I ended up dying here, and I'm a very tankish build.) Finally, they make you climb up a stupid stalk with a low level of forgiveness just to get a berry. Did I mention this stalk was past the Jofash Docks and not even in the Sky Islands?

Frank's "item run" honestly sucks and is a pain to deal with. But then, the other recipes happen to have creative areas. For example, you enter a puzzle house using unique gravity elements and eventually end up on another planet to collect your ingredients. This collection method was not annoying or rage-inducing, but instead creative and more laid back. The Talking Mushroom also was creative, and even has a purpose outside of the quest.

My final verdict here is that depending on who you choose, your "item quest" could be enjoyable or just downright aggravating. Seriously, Frank's recipe list has zero uniqueness to it. Others above praising the quest probably picked a different chef than I did.

And honestly, this quest's story was still better than the Fortuneteller. Recipe for Disaster has you simulate a Wynncraft Master Chef, while Fortuneteller has you look for treasure, disappoint a villager, grow a beanstalk, and get told by a dragon that he has nothing for you but a random book.
