Started a long post and stoped, everything has been said...

    - Lag? You weren't playing like 1 year ago! The servers are awesome now. Get a better connection/computer/ avoid worlds with 60 players and dxp.
    - Grinding? Now that I know how it works I don't expect any XP grinding before level 94 and will wait for new updates for level 100.
    - Boring? How many loot chest III and IV have you found? (and I say found, not getting the coords from the forums). Did you manage to make a build capable of soloing some bosses? So many things to do.
    - Glitches. Sure there are, as in many games.

If people leave, might well be it's not their kind of game, that's all. Everybody will leave someday and that's true for any server.

OK!! No more trash talking about the OPs computer, please, OK? It doesn't matter what was said, none of us know what they are using, and it's not our business. Fact of life: WynnCraft is more resource intensive than it was. Fact of life: not everyone has the money to upgrade their pc whenever they want. Fact of life: some ISPs are better than others. Fact of life: being rude to a poster isn't a good idea if you want to help them.

As to the rest, @Strontium76 pretty well summed up what I was going to say, so I've got nothing to else to add. Thanks for a decent and good post.

I have a guess that the community is made up of three types: The uncommitted tourist, who tries this server along with lots of others. They might be a Minecraft or a RPG or a MMO enthusiast, it varies. They have a character they play here off and on, or all the time for a short while, people differ. Then they leave.
The second type is the committed tourist. They are playing all the way through to the last quest at 90. I am one of those. I like this place, but I am not going to repeat the quests with a different character, the storyline isn't elaborate enough to keep me. Or maybe I will try an Archer. I will return when there is a big update, because there will be new content.
The third type is the resident. They aren't going anywhere. They are considering the most counter intuitive build they can imagine as a fun challenge. They are probably friends with others on the site, and more active on the forums, it is both because they care and why.

Why do people leave? Because they are not getting what they think they want.
The question is who is keeping the lights on? I imagine it is the two long term types. A committed tourist is here for months, long enough for the extras that cost money to be a reasonable expenditure. The resident is probably far more likely to have committed to VIP status as a investment. So the owners have more reason to be concerned about retaining them, than increasing new drop ins.

The ongoing conversations about nerfing and adjusting the games challenges all have an unspoken subtext; the owners are talking about the way end game residents experience the game. They broke life/mana steal because it could be exploited at high level. Which made it useless at lower level. If you read the teams responses they use examples of 500 life steal and a player with 8000 hit points. Not an example of a 40th level character who has 38 life steal and has what, 800 hits? The math works one way at high level, and thats where the owners are looking.
Which, if thats who is paying the bills, is as it should be. There is enough to do your first time through without life steal or the assassin nerf bothering you.

Tfw trying to start a flamewar
Tfw there really isnt any lag, and a lot of people use shaders and still dont lag
Tfw all negative/permanent glitches are avoidable if you are anticipating them

Anyway, I haven't logged on in ages solely because I have nothing to do. I don't have any items of value I am willing to sell, I'm broke, I spent hours helping new players (most of which turned out to be hopeless cases), I donated around 3 stacks to my friends, I tried horse breeding, I used to be super super active on the trade market (and got rekt because I was careless, meh), and I tried my hand at guilds/pvp. I've also finished every quest there is twice, and been to every single location in the game, as well as played many other classes, there's simply nothing left for me other than detlas afking, and I don't want to be that guy.

But as you can notice, I still browse the forums because I do like the community, I still enjoy helping the occasional nub who doesn't seem braindead, and because class building for pvp and helping yet others interests me, especially because of the viability of all tier and level items endgame.
