World Re-texture Of Bob's Mythics [28 Supporters]

Hello Wynncraftians!

*A short summary of this suggestion is that now or when 1.9 comes out and you have more
options for item textures because of durability textures, you should change Bob's Mythics'
textures to fit Grian's story (black with purple runes).

So I was reading some of Grian's old "Wynn Tales" and was on the story of Bob when I
noticed that Grian's idea of the Bob's Mythics' appearances were much different then what
was in the game:



Grian mentions on several occasions,"Bob and his dark weapons". He goes into more detail
while mentioning the daggers by describing them as,"a pair of pitch black knives encrusted
with symbols that glowed a purple color".

So I am here to suggest that either now, or when 1.9 comes out, we should re-texture the
mythics to fit this description. If the GM team has run out of blocks to texture as weapons,
then wait until 1.9 is out, where you can have a texture per durability, opening up countless
possibilities for custom-textured items!

Pros:

• Creates a texture exclusively for this weapon, distinguishing it from other weapons previously of the same texture.
• Immerses the player further more by creating a texture that fits the description of Bob's Lore.

Cons:

• Requires more time and effort that can be used for other, more important things (the Follow Up Update, updating Wynncraft to 1.9, Dern, etc.).
• Requires modification of the durability bar (if you don't have any spare blocks to texture) to avoid having a giant green block on your weapon at all times. @The One-eyed Guy

I think this would be awesome, they are supposed to be unique weapons, and it doesn't feel right having them share a texture with other weapons. I support this fully, but you're right, it might take a few days of work or something along those lines.

 

Isn't the con updating "Wynncraft to 1.9" a bit contradicting since you literally need to be in full 1.9 for the most part for weapon skins per weapon?

 

Also, they should either make bob's mythic items actually mythics or just rename them to "Bob's Legendary (insert wep)" so their names actually make sense

 

Is there detail in the lore describing each of his weapons? It's rather difficult to model something without an idea of what you're doing, especially when it's supposed to be based off of something.

 

Well that's to say that they don't have any extra blocks to texture Bob's Mythics in. For example, currently the texture for Bob's Mythic Wand is built on the Spruce Wood Stairs block. If they have any extra blocks, for example, sponge, bedrock, cobblestone, and dirt, then they could create a separate texture.

And even so, I bet if Salted really wanted to go through with this, he could ask Grian for more detail.

Another con for ya:
There's going to be a durability bar on your Mythic at all times.
However, there are still many block textures that haven't been used yet, so this is still possible. Cool idea!

 

They could always re-texture the bar, if they already haven't done it. I mean, have you ever seen one? Well maybe that's because they haven't needed to create a weapon with a durability bar yet... But they could still change it to where it looks like the space behind it instead of like a giant green bar. Sort of like what they did with the Accessory Slots.

But that in itself would still be a con (having to change it) so it's going up there.

 

I don't believe it's changeable. Can't find it in the textures.
