The nether really needs something to spice it up and revive, so I thought a ranking system would help!

Before I explain, there'll two versions of the nether, the one we have now, and the ranked version. To enter the ranked version, you'll need to at a minimum of level 80.

Now, the basic concept of this is that in ranked, there'll be a point system with ranks and milestones you must reach by dominating in PvP.

    Gaining and losing Points

Gaining and losing points is simple, you gain if kill and lose if you die.

    1 kill = 1 point gained
    1 death = 1 point lost

    Kill Streaks

When going on a kill streak, you'll be gaining a lot more points.
    Per 5 kills, you'll gain a bonus 5 points
Per 20 kills, you'll gain 10 bonus points instead of 5.

    Death Streaks

To correlate and balance out a bit with the kill streaks, you'll also lose a good amount of points if die too many times.

    2 deaths - 2 rank points lost
    3 deaths - 3 rank points lost
    4 deaths - 4 rank points lost
    5 deaths - 5 rank points lost

After 5 deaths, you'll losing 5 points per death until you manage to get a kill.

Note that you cannot go under 0 rank points.

    Skill Decay

After 7 days of inactivity, your points will start to decay.
The first day you'll lose 5 points and from then on 5 points will be added to the loss per day

    1st day - 5 points lost
    2nd day - 10 points lost
    3rd day - 15 points lost
    4th day - 20 points lost
    5th day 25 points lost

    And so on

    Ranks

    Recruit 0-19
    Bronze 20-39
    Silver 40-59
    Gold 60-99
    Platinum 100-129
    Diamond 130-159
    Master 160-199
    Grandmaster 200-299
    Legendary 300-399
Mythical 400-500 (500 being the max amount)

What if a player has a friend that's letting themselves die to give a rank boost to another player?
There would be a system in place where if you kill one player too many times in a short amount of time, like if you killed BallsDeep69 5 times in only 2 minutes for example, you will stop gaining ranked points from that player for an amount of time, like perhaps 6 hours or even an entire day.
You'll also won't gain any points if you kill your own guild members.

Well that's it! Leave your feedback in the comments please!

First, they need to fix the Nether.
Which is not gonna happen anytime soon.

Fixing the nether is whole different situation :p
But maybe bringing more attention to it will make them fix it faster :)

Yeah but they still need to do it or you'd have to rename 'Mythical' to 'Poison build abuser'

Or we can NOT have a OW/LoL/DotA/Smite/MOBA/Rankingsystem in a Minecraft server that takes over weeks and weeks for balance tweaks and months to years for udates

    first off this isnt hypixel...

Secondly, Let me finish reading the thread.
    ------------------------------------------------------
Ok, kinda good suggestion but here are heavy improvements:

"1 death = 1 death lost" fix it

The ranked ideas sound abit off.
    Maybe like.....
    Apprentice
    Skilled
    Captain
    Veteran
    Elite
    Challenger
    Warlord
    Master
    Champion
    Legend

You should keep stats by character, so my archer would have 450 points and my mage would have 20

    and rewards:
    Apprentice: +5% Neutral Damage
    Skilled: +5% Spell Damage
    Captain: +1/4% Mana Regen
    Veteran: +1/4% Soul Point Regen
    Elite: +10% Exp Bonus
    Challenger: +7%Thorns and 8 % Reflection
Warlord: +10% Neutral Damage (15% Total)
    Master: + 10% Speed
Champion: +10% Spell Damage (15% Total)
    Legend: +1 Tier AttackSpeed

You should go a little on not attacking, like 1-2 days off = -1 pt, 3-4 days off = -2 pts, and 5+ days off = -3 pts

There shouoldnt be max points, but instead seasons and if you are above 500 you loose all the points above 500 and have them turn into experience *100 givin to the character you got it on.
***In this suggestion the 500 is 1000

You are too easy in ratings, OP kids like jackykit would hit that up in a week.

    Rank 1: 1-50
    Rank 2: 51-110
    Rank 3: 111-180
    Rank 4: 181-260
    Rank 5: 261- 350
    Rank 6: 351-400
    Rank 7: 401-510
    Rank 8: 511-680
    Rank 9: 681- 760
    Rank 10: 761+

Also, we gotta make item prizes, like anyone who hit 761 after a season (2 weeks or a month) get a Nether Shard which they can trade in Cinfras for a weapon.

Hope you like my feed back which is almost as big as your thread

This is not bad of a suggestion, fair detail and you seem to know how the given feature can have exploits.

But as much as this captures my attention if we were to have a Nether ranked mode, I'd say at least make it so that everyone starts off with a fixed amount of mana regen/steal, damage, health, defense, attack speed, walk speed, and identifications all at 0 (so pretty much everything, right?) Just like ranking systems in MOBAs, you should always have a chance to fight back without losing even more, and for that people must start off at the same levels (like I suggested earlier.) Like the above guy suggests, I feel like rank buffs are fine if it were to meet the idea of everyone starting off with a fixed amount of nearly everything.

This right here will only get weaker players to get beaten up so much that they most likely cannot even rise at 0 points, and makes the stronger players stay high. It's quite a cruel consequence for people that are just having a "bad day", and I feel like losing 5 points per death should be at least reduced to 3.

Maybe even put up an extra bounty of points from the stronger players, like killing a strong player with 30 kills since their last death may result in giving 1 point for killing, plus an extra 10 points for the bounty.

You should try to define "short amount of time" when killing someone "too many times". If I were to kill the same person every minute, would that count? Or, kill the same person every 5 minutes, how about that? It's still quite abusable. As well as the fact that you can join the Nether at any time to do this with your rank-boosting friend, rank boosting should be more detectable. Rather, maybe points can only be given when there are enough people in the Nether (like greater or equal to 5). Well, in the end, I feel like in general that a ranked Nether mode does not go well with how rank boosting can be quite a problem.

Relating back to my suggestion how players should be able to have a more fixed amount of damage along with rank buffs, I think this way because people seem to die too easily in the Nether we have right now, cause everyone's going for some sort of unpleasant damage-dealing builds, like thorns, reflection, poison, literally one-shot mayhem with 5/5 HP. Not to mention, Mythic-tier equipment. Mythic-tier equipment is like, the fate of people's luck. If you don't have a mythic, you pretty much lose (unless you can make a super-duper clever build and strategy). So along with a fixed amount of damage, a fixed amount of everything so that a Nether ranked mode is a little more playable and fun.

And of course, balance your suggestion a little.
