World Quest Items

i was thinking about adding a merchant that you could trade quest items into a stackable tokens and you could trade quest items into the token. like the factory helmet from An Iron Heart 1&2.

one issue i can see is people trading in token for quest items they have not completed.

what do you think about it

A quest bank was planned a while ago, but never added.

 

This isn't always safe and you can get locked from completing certain quests (unless you steal the item from another character), so use at your own risk.

 

Wait, are you trying to say that you want to get special items for turning in your quest items? I like it, as long as it would be reasonably balanced, and have the reward token tiers broken up in intervals of 20 levels. Maybe some items could have more powerful purchaseable versions labeled as '[Quest Item]+' which would allow you to get a stronger version of that item, so you can have quest items you really liked again at levels where the original becomes useless.

 

after a while i remembered there are not that many quest armor items soo ya

 

So? that would make the [Quest Item]+ idea thing I mentioned more of a choice. Do you want to keep the new item you got as a quest reward? or do you want to turn it in so you can get your old favorite item, but better. (Hell, why not do this for all untradeable items, I'd love a Matryoshka Shell+!)

 

i think that would be a cool idea to be able to "upgrade" old quest items
