I mean the loot bonus affects loot chests if I'm not wrong, so it could possibly be a mythic for him and not you?

that takes away someones chance to get one either way, on the flip side there could be a mythic in there for him and not for you, its just a dick move to steal a chest, which a loot run has at least 10 other chests you can loot that are tier 3 and up

 

It's because you made a good point about what is and what is not good behavior in an MMORPG. Some people will agree with you, and some won't. As I've said before, I agree with you, however, I wouldn't quite put it in the same words.

 

Your opinion is valid and I have nothing wrong with you expressing it, whatsoever, and, I can see your point, too. HOWEVER, when you resort to name calling, that makes it a personal attack. Try rephrasing it without calling anyone names. I don't a want a flame war to start, OK?

 

fine rephrased- Camping a chest doesnt make it yours. Others players have every right to take the chest as if they didnt it would be a missed opportunity for them. It also does not make them mean for taking it so dont even try to say that. AND camping chests in general is a stupid idea as your not being time efficient or productive sitting there for 10mins to open that tier 4. end of

 

I was sitting on a Loot Chest 3 in Gundalf's tower and had to switch server due to the time for server restart being lower than the time I had until I could open the chest. Upon switching server and camping on the chest, however, I heard the sound of pistons to indicate a player entering the area. They ran down and noticed me on the chest, which I still could not open, and so I just jumped off of it and ran off; letting them open it without saying a word.

If someone's camping on a chest while they can open it, then it's fine if you take it as they're just being greedy. However, if you're camping on a chest and can't open it, just let someone else have it. There are plenty of loot chests out there, and you might just make that person's day if they find a mythic. At the same time, however, don't steal someone's chest if they can't open it, as that's just unfair; at least ask them first.

This whole discussion really just comes down to how the person making the decision to take a chest or not views it. If they see it as the person sitting on that chest should get to open it it then they'll move on. If they believe that all chests are fair game and by waiting you run the risk of someone else taking it, then they'll take it. And not everyone will agree on which one is right mainly because there isn't a right one. Both views are valid.

 

I mean, attempting to open a chest whilst someone else has opened it will spit out a '[Player] has already claimed this loot chest!' message, and while they don't technically 'own' the chest, it's fairly safe to assume they want to open it.

 

and so does the other person? This whole thread is just silly. If your mad that someone opened a crate u were camping at then dont play multiplayer mc.

 

Not implying that it's exactly the right thing to do as you might assume, but hey, it's a matter of probabilities.

 

I'm not the salty one here, I willingly gave up my chest as I couldn't open it. It's more a matter of respect. You see someone at their crafting bench in front of diamonds, presumably making an Iron Pickaxe, you probably shouldn't be a dick and steal their diamonds. Yes, it's fair game, yes, they don't 'Own' the diamonds, but it's usually a given you don't take their diamonds because it's rather mean.

 

I rember camping for the jungle loot chest on top of a vine and a dude was afking there. I pushed him off and he died from fall damage.
