I think it would be more interesting if putting powders on armors made passive effects, e.g.:

Two air IV powders, increase walk speed (scales to powder)
    Fire, could increase thorns
Earth: slows mobs that hit you
    water: weakens mobs near you
thunder: can knock mobs away after you've been hit a lot

These are just a couple perhaps unbalanced ideas.

I think all the effects should be quite small to keep it balanced,

but I think allowing unique passives using powders on armors would make the game much more interesting.

I think the current effects aren't visible enough, it's all data on the server-side. I don't think it makes it more fun for the player.

I get what you're saying, the aesthetic of powders on armor is nonexistent, and I agree with that. Aside from the aesthetics however, the powders on armor is currently fine. I'd much rather have the damage boosts that they currently give then some smaller effect that really doesn't do me much good for the sake of being visually appealing.

I think the simplest solution would be to just add a little bit of animation to the passives. Nothing huge like the animations of spells, but still something to give them some flavor.

not acting to influence or change a situation; allowing other people to be in control
Ugh, yeah it is, the current effects don't require you to press shift to use or something do they? You don't need to manually act for the situation to change, if your health goes down -> Rage. No mid-step with the player involved, it only perks when the player uses their weapon with rage but that's not really the point.

They all require an event to occur. Passive effects dont, if I recall correctly. Anyway, thats what hes suggesting, things that dont require anything to happen to work.

I mean you can use that same definition of passive but anyways, I'm dumb lol.
