So you know how powders add raw damage to weapons and stuff? Well, I noticed a bit of a problem with that. Let me explain with a small example.

Lets take a SUPER FAST weapon with 100 base damage. Imagine it has 2 powders slots, and you put 2 T6 Thunder powders in it.
It's base damage is now 110-180, or an average of 624 DPS.

Now lets take a SUPER SLOW weapon with 843 base damage (its 8.43x the damage of the super fast weapon, to compensate for the attack speed). Imagine that this too has 2 powder slots, and you also put 2 T6 Thunder powders in it.
It's base damage is now 853-923, or an average of 453 DPS.

By now I'm sure you realize the problem here. Putting 2 of the SAME powders, on 2 weapons with the SAME base DPS, gets you a very noticable damage difference between the two. 624 DPS on the SUPER FAST, and 453 DPS on the SUPER SLOW. I'm sure you know why this is.

You see, because of the raw damage increase that powders provide, weapons that can attack faster are benefitted more from powders when compared to weapons that can attack slower.

A well known example of a raw damage increase (an exaggerated version of the powder damage increase) being more effective if used on faster weapons is the once used Cancer-Taurus. Using Taurus would give a very large raw damage increase at the cost of attack speed. However, once adding Cancer to the mix, that attack speed would be increased. Even though the base attack damage was increased by the same, raw amount in both cases, the DPS changed significantly because of the attack speed difference.

What I suggest is that powders are changed to take into consideration the attack speeds of the weapon, giving a larger raw damage increase on slower weapons, while giving a lesser raw damage increase on faster weapons. This will make powders more balanced across weapons of different attack speeds.

powders are stronger on weapons with faster attack speeds than on slower attack speeds. increase powder damage increase on slower weapons, and decrease the damage increase on faster weapons.

Yes, but faster weapons get bodied HARD by element defense. This is a very much intentional design aspect. Notice how the powder that has the most raw damage, Thunder, is by far the fastest overall element in terms of weapons?

Yeah that's a pretty good point.
But still. I'm not 100% sure if it would work like this or not, but the elemental defense won't matter as much in the case of spells, correct? I mean, the spell multiplier will still increase the spell damage more for faster weapons than slower weapons, and because there is the spell multiplier the faster weapons won't suffer against the elemental defenses in comparison to if you were to be using melee.

That doesn't seem to be the way it works, according to how most people react.
