People spending >$2000 on PC setups while I'm just sitting at my study table with a Macbook Air with a 2-year-old wireless mouse.

my setup is an absolute mess

ok imagine

a 21.5 inch Mac perched on top of 2 old-ass science textbooks (to raise the screen so i don't injure my neck)
with some Yugioh dueling mat for my mousepad cuz I lost my old mousepad (made of same material though)
good ol wireless Mac keyboard
Speedlink Ledos for a mouse

and all of this put on a slightly scratched up red desk with papers everywhere, an uncharged iPod, a few random books, a bunch of recipts, a stray button, a 3DS, a roll of toilet paper, 2 pencils, and an empty cup and a bottle of 1 week old water

 

My setup is my hp laptop on my piano chair.

h440 has 3 120mm fan slots in the front, another 3 on the top, and a single 140mm on the back. I also plan to add rainbow leds inside. Also don't tell me to switch to 1070 or 980ti sli, a single 1080 beats them in ingame performance.

Well, I just recently saved up enough money to buy my desktop, monitor, mouse and keyboard, until then, I'm stuck with this.

CPU: AMD A8 5600k Black Edition overclocked at 4.3GHz. 4 years old but it still cuts it, it does not bottleneck in the games I play (which are mostly Dota2 and Wynncraft). I haven't had a reason to change it.

GPU: Asus STRIX GTX960 4GB. Easily enough for my needs. Quiet, cool, powerful.

Motherboard: This cheap af AsRock FM2A55M-DGS magically ties all the scrap together.

Power supply: a 500W SuperFlower GoldenGreen

RAM: 8GB of DDR3 RAM; I don't use virtual computers or do server stuff so that is easily enough.

Hard drive: PNY 240Gb SSD

Others:
I got this kewl chinese case that has a bitphoenix logo slapped on it.
Mouse: Logitech G402
Keyboard: Microsoft Sidewinder X6
Screens: 2x random poopy monitors, AOC 19" and an LG idfk"
Headset: Sennheiser PC 350 SE (I'm about to upgrade to a real microphone this christmas, very likely the Røde NT-USB or the Blue Yeti. After that I'll use my AKG's for headphones)
Speakers: 2x RCF Ayra 4 monitors and an RCF Ayra 10 Sub. They are all active speakers; the monitors are 55W each and the sub is 250W. The sub is a monster, way too big for my room but well... you guys should hear this. Extremely clear, and if you want, loud.
Ah yes the guitars there you see small slices of are a Jackson Adrian Smith SDX and a home-tuned Squier Telecaster.
