Website & Forums Pet Prices In Store Should Drop

Before stating my opinion, I completely understand that Wynncraft is a community-supportive business and that it relies on income from its store, which is essential for its content and that keeps the server we all love alive.

However....
I do believe that the very most expensive things that should be bought in the store are the ranks. This is true, but not for VIP. Certain pets (the dragonlings) , cost more than the VIP rank, and another pet, (the penguin) comes close to match its price. Not just these, but all the pets are ridiculously overpriced for what they do. Now, I definitely understand that these pets take a while to program and create, and that they are extremely cool that they are made from in-game objects. But, they should not be this expensive. I doubt anyone is willing to pay $7 (or more if you're in Canada-like me) for a potato which rolls around. Sure, there are people who buy these, but the people who do are extremely invested in the game. - And not everyone is like that.

I really think that these prices should be dropped down quite a fair bit. Wynncraft would for sure have more investors in the pets, and as a final result, everyone would be better off. A price of a PET should not pass a RANK, and in this case, a pet should not go over the price of $20. Although, in my opinion, pets should not pass over $15.
Please take this into consideration. :)

so $30 dollars for a cool looking dragon isnt rly a gud deal if u ask me :/
not only that (im no expert in marketing and economics but) people would probably buy more if their cheaper so that way the server might actually make more money
ofc people who've bought pets should (maybe) be compensated in some way for paying so much for pets lol
idk if thats allowed i dont think they did that with the ranks (did they?)

probably depending on the price change of the pets, that difference could be put towards something like crate packages for the players who bought the "expensive" versions of the pets. (Or anything in the shop like bombs or something.)
that would be my idea.

 

Buying store items shouldn't be considered "buying" as if ot was just a plain shop. Instead, you're directly donating money to support the server, for which we offer cool stuff in return.

 

That too, though maybe more people will buy pets if they were cheaper. I never found them that appealing, that’s why I bought VIP+ instead to support the server.

 

Pets should be interchangeable as horse skins.

 

Definitely true, but it really comes down to what players will receive when they donate. If they were cheaper then there would be more donations because people like knowing that the money they give to something would benefit themselves in some way.

 

pets are for donating,

if you can't afford a pet don't complain about it. they aren't supposed to be an amazing killer deal. you can get a cheap one or an expensive one to SUPPORT the server. if you want your moneys worth just buy a rank.. i don't see the point in lowering the prices

 

That argument is soo bullshit. Community tried suggesting before option to just donate without buying anything, but the mods refused it. If only options I have of donating is buying a product, then at least I'd want the product to be worth buying it.

If you want a cheap pet you can buy one, if you want an expensive one you can buy it.

if you think the cheap ones are lame. you don't have to buy it

I'm not whining. I bought both Spooky Pumkin and the Baby Pinguin, and you know what? They're glichy as all hell, especially the penguin. It sometimes is all jumbled up and looks like shit. What I'm saying is that for having a pet that doesn't even work as it's supposed to half the time, they're not really worth it. That's why I bought them on sale, and even then I'd say it's not worth buying if you're not really invested in playing Wynn.

 

The fact is is that even when people say "donating" people really just want to buy something which benefits themselves. Its a fact about humanity. And since this idea of "donating" isn't really working, it would be better to lower the prices so Wynncraft could earn more money for the effort they put in anyways.

 

as an owner of the penguin companion on hyp (which is basically the same thing) i know what you mean about it being glitchy,
which sucks.. but still, there's not really a reason for it to be made cheaper besides more people buying it, which i guess would make sense but why not just have a lot of sales instead of permanently making it cheaper?..

It would still be considered a donation because of the fact it won't affect any in-game progression, although if wynncraft wanted more donations through the pets... the prices should be lowered. and if it doesn't work out, they can always revert back to original pricing.

You can buy a pet for 4 DOLLARS which is arguably "barely any" ANYONE could donate that much, so if the goal was donations why would they need to be lowered

 

BUT THE GOAL ISN'T THE DONATIONS
if you go to buy anything, you're not donating to charity, you're buying something becouse you want it or need it

 

And in my original thread post, I stated how in my opinion, pets should not exceed $15. I never really mentioned how a $4 pet needs to be lowered. If wynncraft wants people to donate (AKA buying pets), they're going to have a difficult time with the more expensive ones which are over the VIP cost. If someone is willing to donate $20 or more, they would almost certainly buy a rank, especially if it was their first purchase. All I'm saying is that there is not much use for having a pet price being this high when players can receive a better "thank you gift for donating" when they donate less. Although it's great that you have your own opinion on this. we cant all be the same

 

Imo pets aren't a really usefull thing at all and shouldn't become usefull or less expensive

They are just like "look, i've donated x amount of money to the server!

And is just some cool stuff you get in return, also, since prices vary, you can very well buy a low-cost pet rather than a high cost pet

However, if you want cooler pets to be less pricey, then make suggestions about some where maybe you've already done the coding or else so that its implemented kinda right away and since it required almost no work for it, it shouldn't be too pricey?

Or am I just getting all of this wrong?

The prices do vary from pet to pet and as Aarontti stated, you're donating money to a server rather than purchasing an actual product. If the purpose of this post was to acquire a certain pet that's at too high of a price point for you, you have to understand that there are dozens upon dozens of people who purchased that pet at the current price point and lowering it would be completely unfair to those people.


My suggestion is, wait for an event such as Christmas or summer and buy the pet when it's at a discount price ^-^

 

So therefore we shouldn’t have anymore sales or dxp weekends because it’s unfair to people who bought those items at their original price?
