With the new 2.1 update, dungeon bosses have become an actively enjoyable piece of content. However, if someone is doing it in a party, the boss automatically looses it's intensity and fun. If Witherhead is always attacking one out of two players in a party, one of them only has to dodge her and not attack (making it far simpler for them); while the other only attacks without worrying about taking damage, which completely removes the stakes. The action of the fight doesn't feel much different than pre-2.1 bosses.

While someone could redo the dungeon by themselves afterwards, many dungeons are only challenging for a select group of levels, especially in the early game. Therefore, leveling up after doing the dungeon once (in which the boss fight wasn't a challenge) could also make future runs loose the full boss fight experience, because the player is now over-level for the challenge. Additionally, some people play as a group and don't want to play solo as it would level them up above their party members.

To allow for multiple people to fight the boss, solo or together, an opt-in system for solo fights would be helpful. Something along the lines of if party members enter the boss door within a certain amount of time of each other (10 seconds for example), the game uses a party finder like system. If all people opt in, (as they would in a party), they would be sent to separate boss fights/worlds, while if a set time passes without any inputs, it allows them to fight together. The boss fight doors would need to have a 5-10 second loading time to let other party members enter the door and trigger this mechanic, but I think the tradeoff is worth it if it means people get the full 2.1 boss experience.

Edit: For any people who want to grind dungeons, there could be a command which automatically deactivates the feature for that party until it is dismantled or changed back with another/the same command. (Plus this feature wouldn't be for most forgery dungeons anyway which aren't redone, where most grinding would occur)
