World Only You Can Prevent Player Fires

1. Be Specific: We could really use fire resistance potions, simple because there are people like me who have a tendency to fall in lava or in general..... Burn. . . Allot. It can be frustrating at times especially when you want that loot 4 chest in Rodoroc and burn to death right as you get close to it :D.

I would implement it as a quest on bear island it would go like this.

Intended to be a level 26-30 quest.

“Smokie” Oh my! This is not good, not good at all. Oh hello adventurer, your startled me! Well you see it appears that a random Creeper has wandered into my speakea. . . Uhhhh. . . Laboratory, I would reward you greatly if you remove him. You will need “1 Bear Mask” if you want to get into the Lab here you will need this “1 Zhight Money” to buy the mask.

*After Entering the “Lab”*

“Lost Creeper” Oh no, a warrior from Fruma! Please do not kill me I might be the last of my kind. You see a horrible beast called Garoth has taken my land by force and laid waste to my species. Those he has not killed he has bent to his will and forced into slavery. If you go and bring me back proof of his death “1 Garoths Breath” I would gladly return to my old home. Kill me and you will have to live knowing you destroyed the last of a lost race.

*you may kill the creeper (dropping "1 Lost Creeper Dust") and complete the quest OR do the dungeon and bring him “1 Garoths breath”If you choose to bring the breath then this dialog appears and ONLY if you bring him the breath.*

“Lost Creeper” Hello Adventurer! I see you have defeated Garoth, I will honor the agreement and return to my home. Before I go, take these as a token of my appreciation “4 Broken Corrupt Lost Sanctuary Keys” and "1 Lost Creeper Dust" thank you again for your help adventurer.

*You then need to return to Smokie*

“Smokie” Ah, the creeper is finally gone and I can return to making my moonshi. . . Um. . . . Elixir, anyway here is the reward I promised, thank you again for ridding my Lab of that beast!

Each "Smokie's Elixir" would cost eight Zhight money, or 1le. This high cost would hopfully discourage over use of the potion relegating it to a life saver rather than a "lol now I can just swim through lava" type of potion.

1. Is it possible? I think so, I am not familiar with your game code but potions exist, so I must believe that fire resist pots can exist.

1. Does it fit? Well considering the amount of lava and fire y'all have in the game (which is awesome BTW) it would be beneficial to all those who play with matches in Detlas to often.

So you would only be able to do it once per class?

The CT won't add another fetch quest as simple as this, It will be just like the old potion making quest, and everyone would be angry.

I think the idea of a fire res potion is good, but I think you should just be able to get it from chests and merchants.

Neither is yours.

The quest is really stale and short. It's just a fetch quest. WynnCraft wants quests that can introduce you to something, in this case, you need to introduce the potions.

 

Well there is mages level two heal spell, but this made me think...

ONLY ASSASINS (and maybe other classes that arent mage) should be able to drink fire resistance potions.

That new quest from outside nivla forest is about fire, maybe fire resistance potions should be connected to that.

 

That's not up to me to figure out. Are you talking about Enzan's Brother by the way? They changed it so that you can pick a powder of any element now.

 

He's talking about Elemental Exercise, the introduction to the elements.

 

Other people have made some good points, but I'm going to point out something else; the idea behind the thread.

This quest exists to give you access to Fire Resistance potions, so you can avoid fire damage. That's not good. Fire and lava were both buffed in the Gavel update because they were ridiculously underpowered. They did next to no damage.

This was changed so that there could be an obstacle that's not just a monster or a wall. Getting rid of that entirely is just going back to pre-Gavel. Fire and lava finally actually matter, and that's good. They're already easy to avoid, they don't need to be as dangerous as a cup of water too.

Based on the amount of fires Smoky has "fought", I'm surprised Smoky isn't dead yet. How can a bear, without opposable thumbs, stop a fire. Actually, how can a bear make potions? How can a bear have money to give you, if it's in a zoo, which is on bear island?

Okay but in all seriousness, I agree with @captainganon. Also, 2048 emeralds is a lot. Especially for such a short quest.
Also, the bear zoo on bear island has been around since the ocean update, and is something I think the server should preserve since it is part of Wynncraft's history. It has never served a large purpose, but adding builds/ a town just seems to ruin the point of bear island being a zoo. Maybe if the pub were in a cave, that could work.

I admire your willingness to suggest something, but fire, like other obstacles, is what keeps the game interesting. If you could never die, then that would be pointless, wouldn't it?

 

I have taken everything into consideration and revised the quest. I also added more detail to what the potion would cost.

Furthermore, I would not want the island changed, that is the point. The cost as well as the fact that no bank would exist there would mean that players could not just set up shop on the island with a different class to get a pot when they pleased.

 

We'd be swamped with newbie threads asking what this is for
