New Staff Position: Helper (0 Supporters)

This is the all new re-made thread, so what a helper would do is pretty name explanatory, they would help out with builders, GM's, and mods. to help out with builders, they would need a little skill I guess, but if there is something really easy, but it just takes a long time, a helper would do it. for GM's, they could be a script writer, or a person who just comes up with ideas, presents them to Salted, and then he would approve, then a GM would work on that idea. for helping a mod, he would pretty much fly around and look for hackers, if he sees one he will report one to a mod, or if someone is suspicious looking, but isn't doing anything ATM, a mod will call upon a helper and he would watch them.

The helper position could also be somewhat of a trial position, because a helper would be showing of his amateur building, GM, and moderation skills, which will eventually grow (because helpers will constantly be w/ amazing people) and then he could become a GM/builder him/herself!

What is the age requirement?

 

There's no age requirement on other ranks, why would there be on this one?

This "helper" sounds like a crappy hybrid/tribrid to be honest...

Yes. One of the core members of the Content Team was chosen at 11.

 

Helper would only get spammed as much as mods

Besides, people just need help with a quest or getting unstuck. They always asks mods, High lvls, or more know people for dumb help (seriously though, why spam people to help you with your lvl 40 quest)

Well anyone can get VIP, highly doubt there is a admin that is less than 18 and all the mods ive talked to are older than 14. So the only rank left is YT and there are only about 3 people who have that rank (that have been on in the past month or 2)


EDIT: Forgot about the Builders and GMs. There are way too many builders so there is bound to be a pre-teen in the bunch. Doesn't really matter though since only a handful of builders are actually active and most GMs are builders who are (mostly) active.

I know of a mod who was chosen below 14, but still, there's no actual age requirement.

All a rank requires is skill. Other than VIP/+, that is.

To be fair, as long as that person has the maturity and skill set to accomplish the tasks that are given, age won't play a big factor.

 

Care to name these staff members? Of course, if they don't want to share their forum names, that's fine.

He's one of the few mods who I can relate to, as well. Really great person!

 

Jamer is just a wall of goodness. I don't relate to good things.

Ganny and Preztule however, do nothing to stop my profane jokes, so I like them.

 

As ganon said, this rank does seem to be like a weird hybrid of all the ranks, that I don't really think is needed.

The things that you said Helpers would do are pretty much already what those ranks do - so there's really no point on having a Helper rank that's basically all three ranks combined, when you can just apply for GM and apply for Builder.

As for what a Helper would do to help Moderators, we don't need someone to fly around looking for hackers - the /report command already exists for everyone to use if they see a hacker, and I think all of the Moderators are pretty good at finding hackers themselves without the need for someone else that'll basically be able to do the same thing as Moderators except the actual banning part.

Sorry if this is too much of a shoot-down, but I feel like that this rank isn't really needed at all. Maybe if you made the rank into something different rather than just a hybrid of all three ranks, it'd be a bit better.

We actually did consider having a Helper rank once - but then those people just became Trial Moderators instead. So, in the end, I feel like this idea won't happen anytime soon. Sorry!

Age won't play a big factor, correct. But when a server hires people as young as thirteen, or even lower, that server gets given a bad name. Have you seen Mine****?...
