New Objectives Feature + Hero Beta!

    Yo everyone!

    We're running a short HERO beta to test a new feature and performance for an unannounced future major update. (don't look for it, you won't notice it's there).

    The new feature is called "Objectives"! They're similar to Missions we used to have, except way better.

    When finishing King's Recruit, you'll get a few easy-ish objectives to complete. Things such as "Slay Mobs", "Find Discovery", "Gather Resources", etc. Completing them gives a little bit of XP and they are non-repeatable.

    Once you finished all of them (or if you are level 30+ when this goes live), you'll instead receive a Daily Objective.

    Daily Objectives are slightly harder, but instead of giving a little bit of XP it gives you a good amount of loot instead. You get 1 daily objective for each character you have.

    You'll get a new one every day at midnight EST. It will also reset your current Daily if you've got one, so make sure to complete them before it happens!

    You can also hide those by typing "/toggle sb". However we do not recommend it as you might miss out on good daily objectives and they already automatically hide when you have no objectives anyway.

    This beta, we'd like you to focus on testing those:
    1. Trade Market (we've made small backend changes)
    2. Regular objectives (by starting a new class). Are they rewarding? Do they take too long to complete?
    3. Daily Objectives. Are they rewarding? Do they take too long to complete?
    4. Server performance. Do you notice more connection lag than usual? More lag spikes?

    also a question are the rewards always random for all objectives? because im thinking it would be cool if there were like tiered challenges
    for example
    t1 challenge: kill lvl 1-10 mobs (this for a lvl 1-10 class)
    t2 challenge: complete 3 lvl 5+ quests
    t3 challenge: kill 100 grind area mobs
    and each gets a better reward, maybe tiered the same way

    Not noticing any unusual lag, trade market is still great, the "Slay Mobs" objective should be based around your level so that a high level cant just slaughter weaker mobs in ragni since this might ruin new players experiences and make this more of a challenge to the player, i like how the objectives are different for each class you have while being randomized from an easy task to a more difficult one, getting loot after an objective is also arguable whether or not the player should get large amounts of valuable loot compared to Experience i personally dont mind either one but others beg to differ with Experience being more useful and more worth it in the long run since it sticks with your character over time while items are either worn temporarily, sold, or if youre lucky in a end game build, this is a very interesting update as well because recently ive lost motivation to play WynnCraft but with these daily objectives for each of my classes i will be more motivated to increase the strength of my other classes rather than my archer while getting daily rewards. There's only a win win and i like that a lot. Overall i like it :)

    Despite being called daily objectives, they won't reset if you didn't finish the objective. I'm assuming this is a bug.

    Okay, couple things-

    Suggestions:
    • At the moment, the reward (past lv30) is that you get the equivalent of a daily reward chest with a maxed claim streak (5 dailies in a row) for completing your daily objective. This is honestly a little too good in my opinion considering that gives some players access to literally 13 of these 5 streak chests, and instead I think it would be better to nerf it down to a 3 streak chest plus a set amount of xp respective to the level of the class that completed the objective. An exception could be that level 104 classes could simply get that old 5 streak chest (an incentive to perform the grind imo), however iirc the intent was for there to be no reward for 104 (like 101) and for it to just be an "easter egg" of sorts, so I guess this wouldn't fall in like with that.
    • Objectives should definitely not just have their rewards scale with level, but also their requirements. As stated earlier by a few people, killing 120 mobs can be done very very quickly (the way I did it on the beta was just spend 30 seconds killing jungle slimes that split everywhere, I was done with the 120 mob one in about a minute flat), and giving a low level player a whopping 24 emeralds isn't exactly a very equal requirement for the same reward. Scaling objectives like this to maybe, killing 120 level 90+ mobs specifically, or giving a player 32EB instead could help to make the objectives slightly more challenging and less of a quick grind for a reward. After all, you've got 24 hours to do these, may as well force players to use a little more than one minute of that per class.
    Bugs:
    • If I understood correctly, you're supposed to get a different mission on each individual class, but all 11 of my eligible daily objective classes got the objective "Slay 120 mobs", regardless of their level (they ranged from 103 to 55). Others said this happened to them as well, so I'm gonna assume that's a bug and just not god tier rng.
    Overall, I like the concept and think the way it works is definitely solid for the game, just that it could use a bit of fine tuning on the balance aspect to make it better. Good stuff ^^

    Although I have been away from the game for awhile, this sounds a bit boring. It's certainly sounds better then missions though...
