    Honestly, one of two things have happened to get this clue:

    1. He used a resource pack to get rid of the &k text (Which Lotem has stated in his official thread that it's unauthorized).

    2. Something happened during his adventuring that caused it to change and he doesn't know when, or how.

    And turning uniform text doesn't get rid of &k text. It's also possible that that this is photoshopped, but I'm not an expert on that.
