As I am already suggesting lots of +hp items with horrid defense on the basis of giving you good heals, leo works just fine! (If this was a defensive build, my answer would've been no).

The heals from leo are a tad better than fish/soulflare because of the incredible hp, and the +fire damage works with your fire damage from defense, so it works fine. Make sure you use a fire wand with no -water% and lots of +hp if you go this route though.

I'd recommend using a marble ring if you decided on the ring pair with concentration with that set, however. Ik you still want at least SOME neutral damage, and marble's spell/raw spell makes up for the -spell on leo, and the ele defense at least softens the impact of the -water defense.

Also, definitely go with magma chalice and some secondary wand of your choice with this, because of its +hp and decent fire damage.

it does nothing now, it shows that they have poison, (they receive knockback once every second for 3 seconds) but it deals no damage.

If you want to have high neutral damage with fast melee, use 2 Jester Rings, they act the same as a ring and necklace. Keep a Jester necklace on you for a third piece to the set, in case you want to do more spell damage instead of melee.
2 Jester pieces gives you +150 melee damage, and -75 spell damage.
3 Jester pieces gives you +200 spell damage, and -50 melee damage.
