I mean tbh did you expect a Stepen King novel? No one knows anything at all about the state of your world- not political entities, technological inventions, recent events, the state of religion, or anything really. It’s also kind of standard to not need a great backstory on these forums.

Basically by forming a bridge between the dimensions and releasing a wave of energy from it, sorta like a moving wall, people hit can be sucked in depending on how powerful they are, but it is also dodge-able.

He can do it with his mind but using hand motions helps him focus and take less mental energy, basically yes but it’s not cost effective.

It does take energy, taking significantly more for people rather than objects, as well as size or number. So essentially small (half meter by half meter) objects take very little and maxes out at about 20m by 20m. I’m not sure how power levels work in this world so how it interacts with people is up to you.

Backstory: Natural of Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Alejandro has lived in a fairly cramped house with his father and mother for as long as he can remember, avoiding using much money and going to the public school only for obligation more than anything. Managing to keep his grades only above failing the years, he managed to finish school up until Sophomore, where he dropped out to be able to work and help his family bring money home.
Walking from work one day, he found himself in a fairly odd situation; A teenager was getting robbed in one of the alleyways near his house, and so he went on to help him. Getting a loose plank that conveniently layed nearby, he whacked the robber in the head, letting the youth run and taking the gun for him, so the man couldn't rob anyone else ( Totally )

Appearance: Y’all know we got that olive skin dark hair like literally all of my characters except the Celtic one Mediterranean superiority ftw

Clothing: A clearly oversized black hoodie that reads “Il Vizio Impero” in embossed silver. Several bracelets of silver around the wrist area but usual the sleeves end up covering those anyway.

Equipment / Belongings: An antique gun that’s (you guessed it) silver from the 2090 era. Looks really fancy and it’s even got the Vizio Impero thing engraved on it in tiny letters. Also a silver sword, I’m assuming we have some sort of Mist going on lol.

Starting Location: Little Italy I guess? Doesn’t matter.

Backstory: Victoria’s family has a history of organized crime. In the far past, her father led a gang known as Il Vizio Impero, whom dominated the streets of Manhattan. After a failed robbery, her father was caught and sentenced to ten years in jail. Her mother was with child at this time, and ended up having to care for Victoria on her own. They lived in extreme poverty for the ten years her father was imprisoned, her mother working both day and night. Victoria meanwhile attended a public school.

Eventually, her father finished his sentence and was allowed to return to the family, though the police monitored him. For two years he tried to turn over a new leaf, but no one would hire him. Some business owners still remembered being robbed at gunpoint by the gang. The family struggled even more.

It was around the age of twelve when Victoria started exhibiting strange abilities. She accidentally cut a peer student with a ruler while angry. Some claimed to have seen the ruler change shape while she was using it, forming a point. But of course, that was an outrageous claim. Nonetheless Victoria was expelled from the school.

The police finally stopped checking in with her father. Il Vizio Impero’s exploits were a thing of the past, it seemed. But their family still could not support itself. Victoria’s parents would notice odd things happening. The horrid, rusting pipes had fixed themselves overnight. Her father’s old gear seemly unearthed itself from where it was buried in the backyard. When Victoria managed to bend her spoon in half, it was a drawing point. They knew.

Her father decided to use these powers for the family’s benefit. He trained her daughter the same way he had been many years ago. When she was fifteen, he sent her out. She broke into a jewelry store and caused the cameras to malfunction internally. Carefully levitating valuables out of the shop, it was like she was never there. Soon the family had enough money to do things again, and no one would ever find the culprit.
(FYI on the whole gang thing it was active like 17 years ago so not that many people would remember it unless they had direct encounters and even then it would probably wouldn’t be that prevalent in their mind)

Magic (If Any): Griffin can increase or decrease the length of the chain attached to his kunais. He can do a bunch of weird stuff with it like entangle people or make a make-shift grappling hook. His most famous move is to wrap the chains around the nearby environment creating a closely knitted net or 'web' of chains. He's immediately alerted to anyone who steps onto the web and can pull on the chain to entangle them.

Appearance: Short black anime hair, white like a European. Isn't from japan.

Clothing: Sneakers, street pants, t-shirt and jacket (which he usually leaves open).

Equipment / Belongings: 2 kunais with chains he wields with expertise. Cellphone, bag, maybe a wallet for money, etc.

Backstory: Vigilante and self-proclaimed hero. Wears a mask so nobody knows it's him. Dad's dead. Lives with his mom (or rather his mom lives with him). Supposible figured out the whole kunai thing on his own. Works as a barrista.
