I can confirm it's called the gameplay update for nothing.

 

Server must always be down then. It gives the online mode error when I try logging in.

 

It isn't setup to allow anyone on. I believe it is whitelisted, and that whitelist is nowhere near up to date. The main purpose of the server in the first place was to allow larger YTers to play without others interrupting their recording sessions.

It's actually 6x xp on dxp weekend. Atleast that's what @Glitchedslayer told me.

YT xp is pretty weird.

It seems that the system works off of BASE xp and SERVER xp. Base and server xp multiply each other by adds itself. So if you have a base xp of 1.5. from gear (you start with 1x and add in 50% xp gear) and a dxp bomb (2x), you will have 3x xp. If there is a dxp bomb (2x) and Dxp weekend (2x), you will have 3x server xp instead of 4x. So having 2x xp armor (base) on a txp server (3x), you have will have 6x xp.

YT rank changes your base xp from 1x to 3x. So having 100% xp armor (4x server) and dxp bomb (2x server) would give you 8x xp. I'm not sure if this is exactly a bug since VIP xp was a server buff instead of base. Tell me if I'm wrong, but @Salted is the only one that actually knows the code.

So usually some big servers give yt benefits. To get those yt benefits you need a certain amount of subs or l its up to the owner deserves it. For example hypixel gives all max kits or all buy able kits in the games.
Like seb said the yt helps with the videos. It is also a reward to the yt's for their hard work.
