My Opinion On The Bonfire Festival....

Example: In WWI, the soldiers took a break from fighting each other on christmas day to play a game of football/soccer together and exchange gifts. The higher-ups were mad, but it was pretty wholesome so it sucked that they had to start killing each other the next day

First off yes I apologize for tagging you on discord but I felt it was the only way to get you to notice the complaints people have because no light was shined on them at all, until now.

I understand the time constraints and that this event couldn't have been pushed back too much but I feel like more than two CT members should have been working on this because it really feels like only Kio and Zero made any work, and I already know that stuff like wynnterfair won't ever happen again but it would have been at least good enough if the event actually took place in Wynncraft, the Minecraft server instead of https://store.wynncraft.com/.

Which is why I'm glad you're at least implying that more stuff will get added to the Bonfire Festival, I'd be happy if awful gambling mechanics weren't the only way to get the cosmetics and you could get some guaranteed cosmetics somehow with an NPC in-game and you could have us do tasks with another player to get in-game tokens so this could actually be a festival that brings the community together.

I'm not used to cosmetics at all because I always seem to forget to open my daily crate, but when the cosmetics are time-based and when people like Mira have spent about 130 dollars and not gotten any of the desired items in the loot boxes then yes it really irks me this is the only thing that could ever be done and if you aren't lucky enough you won't get anything out of this, also I forgot to mention the clear advantage ranked players get compared to non-paying players due to being able to have more classes, up to 14 for Hero and Champion while non-ranked get spit in their faces with only 6 class slots, only being able to do 6 daily objectives per day compared to a Hero with 14 classes.

I really hope this can be added in, just so that the people who have spent so much money and have not gotten anything don't get spit in their mouth so much by awful luck with randomized loot boxes, it would be lovely if it could, and also if it wasn't clear I'd also love if you could trade pets with other players too.

If my boyfriend wasn't getting scammed by horrible lootboxes I'd be having all the fun in the world mate
(and i never said it was fair, its the most unfair thing ever still because that means even less chances to get the cosmetics you all advertise, and honestly I swear I thought it worked that way, I apologize for my misunderstanding)

also they didn’t get “scammed” by the loot boxes, they r free. U payed nothing for it, so ur not losing anything (unless ur like my one friend who didn’t get the item from the loot box)

 

Will bonfire cosmetics get merged to normal lootchests? Or will they be separated forever, with bonfire only purchasable or available during events like these?

 

When the event ends, you can no longer get the cosmetics.

Am I the only one that felt like this should have been a fall event (like actually it would have been better in October). Normally there's like beach stuff during the year.

 

Yet again I apologize for my misunderstanding, as for what else would they do, maybe a middle ground where you can only get 6 free crates per day so it's actually realistic you get the cosmetics and pets they advertised in the forum thread considering you only get t1 crates so it's also fair to nons.

And no my friend, the crates aren't free in the very slightest, to get the stuff the event is advertising you have to spend about 20 to 50 dollars to get a chance to get the desired item from them, whether it is a pet or a cosmetic, so yes Mira did get scammed because we were hoping to get the fox pet and after 130 dollars none of it came, I myself didn't pay for her crates (but I will soon) so she did lose money for this, we aren't paying for the other stuff, indirectly by getting the other stuff she got scammed by these awful things

 

Wynn should probably have an agreement when you buy crates that says ''I am purchasing this with the awareness that this is a lootbox and i'm not guaranteed to get what I want'' so arguments like this are less likely

Better in November since in the UK we literally have an event called ''Bonfire night'' in November

Also sure that’s pretty annoying, but keep in mind they are lootcrates. Ur not guaranteed to get what u want, that’s the point of it

but I do think more than one crate a day is a good idea
If it was like 5 or smth that means 25 days I think so if u get unlucky and get all rates thats 1 epic a day
Then that’s 25 epics, divided by 5 is 5 legendaries and then 1 godly
So basically u can get one godly from the event even if u get bad rng

I have a question about scrapping things, then, because I'm not sure how it works. Can you only scrap Bonfire items with other Bonfire items to get a higher tiered Bonfire item? Or can you scrap like some regular Rare item with a Bonfire Rare item and get a higher tiered Bonfire one?

 

You can only scrap bonfire cosmetics with other bonfire ones.

 

Just remembered, I didn't ping you 3 times to tell you how much I hate the festival, only two, the third ping was about telling you to tell someone in the CT or whatever to do something about the stupid az runes bug where they don't stack :^)

I think samsam said it pretty well. Honestly this feels surprisingly generous from the admins for those of us who normally only get 1 crate a month filled with crappy stuff. I've gotten a decay bow and a focus effect already within one week without spending a single cent, which would've taken about a year and a half if the festival hadn't happened. Yes the fact they're using lootboxes which are pretty much just gambling is questionable but the server needs to stay afloat somehow. Honestly I'm just glad I can play what is overall an amazing game for free, and I don't really care if I can't get some cosmetics that don't effect gameplay or how much fun I have in any way, and if they suddenly decide they want to give me the possibility of getting something worthwhile out of a crate for free I'll be happy with it.

Honestly I have a lot more qualms with the bomb bell, especially the fact that they won't let wynntils add it even though they say it won't be a problem which is pretty hypocritical, and how pets do damage now, since those are starting to get suspiciously close to the line between cosmetics and outright pay-to-win, than I do with them adding some limited time cosmetics. Honestly, I think this festival was a good thing, at least from my own selfish perspective of the short term gain it gives me and other people who don't spend money on wynncraft, even though it is part of an ongoing trend of the server becoming more and more 'cashgrabby' with the way it deals with getting money.

Overall, I think an ideal version of this festival would have them just adding the bonfire cosmetics to the pool of existing cosmetics that can be bought on the store and leave them there even after the event, and have the only limited time part of the festival be the possibility of getting crates for free via daily and weekly objectives and the 3 free ones you get on the store, that way they remove the pretty sketchy infamous advertising of "give 50 dollars now or it'll be gone forever!" while still encouraging people who are more casual players to pay more attention to wynncraft and maybe buy things in the future. Obviously that'll never happen, but it's what I think would be the optimal way of doing an event like this.
