Heya. An idea just popped in my mind.

As of 1.9, a new "Voice/Speech" slider was added. It was added for mapmakers, as it's not used in the actual game. Now, my idea is very simple. Move all the noteblocks ost sounds from the noteblocks slider to the Voice/Speech slider. That way we'll be able to control the music in a better way, because Wynn uses noteblock sounds for stuff other than music.

But that's not all! With a resourcepack, we are able to replace the "Voice/Speech" slider text. So we can then replace "Voice/Speech" by "Wynncraft Music" or something like that.

It shouldn't be hard to do at all. And for 1.8 players, they should still be using the Noteblocks slider, nothing would change. It would require a resource pack update though, but I don't think that's a problem. For the past months, Wynncraft started using 1.9 features more and more (Attack cooldown animation for example), so I don't see why we can't do that! (Unless they have plans for this slider already, which I doubt)

Can you further explain what the slider actually is? It's not very clear how this would replace the noteblocks and music

So here's the vanilla options, which you've probably already seen:

It is possible for any sound to go in any slider. For example, I can play the sound of a zombie dying in the voice/speech slider, it doesn't have to be in the "Hostile Creature" one. That's possible using /playsound in vanilla:
Some sounds in Wynncraft, such as some menu "click" sounds or the noteblocks that play during multiple puzzles are in the "Note blocks" slider right now. Both the music and this are in there. If we move the music, then we'd have full control over the sounds, and I think that would be fairly useful.

We can't control the actual vanilla Music slider though, as this one is hardcoded and will always play the Minecraft ost.

that's the whole point of the thread: lowering the noteblock volume also lowers other gameplay sounds, and that could easily be fixed

Not really. 1.8 command syntax doesn't require a <source>, which means no CMDs actually put them in. This results in all puzzle/gameplay sounds coming from the "master" slider. If you show me some examples of this not being true, I'd be happy to look into them ;)

Oh, so playsounds from 1.8 all play in the master volume? I didn't know that.
It's better than what I thought, but I think sounds shouldn't play in the master slider. However, it's not bad right now so I don't think it's worth the trouble of changing all the command blocks

My master volume is pretty similar to my noteblock volume, that's probably why I never noticed
