Recently, I've been levelling another low level class and I've noticed that some parts of Wynn (especially the lower levels) seem like they are simply laid out for you, intending for you to run from point A to point B, talk to this person, kill this enemy and get your reward before moving on to the next quest which follows a similar pattern. I feel like this makes some areas appear bland and characters and doesn't reward the player for taking the time to explore the environment and check every cave, rock and house.

However, some areas do have interesting things that a player can do there (namely relics and the clock secret) and I find that discovering secrets similar to those, such as easter eggs, gives a feeling of adventure and discovery that surpasses the feeling you get from completing a set out quest and also brings the area to life.

What I'm suggesting is that secrets of a smaller scale than the ones already mentioned should be added in some areas that feel a little dry - they could be mini bosses, puzzles or simply areas hidden in a place that is hard to reach. However, I think that instead of giving a reward of a powerful item (which might make players inclined to visit that place just to obtain it), the player is instead rewarded with something that will only be of interest to them if they are interested by the backstory of the area (I mean, the fact that a drunken villager in a bar is secretly the twice removed sixteenth cousin of the king of Ragni isn't important... but someone might find it interesting) such as an item that is either purely cosmetic or has some interesting lore attached to it, some text or even a small cutscene to show what took place in that area.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For example, you come across a camp in the Canyon of the Lost. It's been ransacked, burnt to the ground and it's littered with corpses. To the casual observer, if they passed by it they would just assumed it had been attacked by orcs or something similar. However, if someone decided to take a closer look, they would be able to find a secret room underneath one of the tents which could be accessed by a hidden button. Then inside it, there would be a strange crystal-ball-thing that captured memories and stored them, to be played back later. when clicked, the player would get to see a cutscene of the camp being attacked and learning that it was actually owned by a convoy of merchants that were transporting highly rare gemstones from Rodoroc to Cinfras, before they were raided and the gemstones were stolen. Afterwards the player would then receive a diamond which would have been supposedly left in the dirt and forgotten, containing some lore about its origin and purpose
(will have an image here, when I can be bothered to make one.)

It could also be something much smaller, that would reward the player for trying something they wouldn't expect to actually work. For example there is a small book shop in Troms (will put an image here later). Imagine if there was something saying 'All books, 20E each!' and if the player threw the right amount of emeralds over a counter and into a hopper, they would receive a book that would have some information about its contents. (will put an image here of it, again, when I can be bothered to make one)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for taking the time to read it (ended up being longer than I expected), please feel free to add more ideas!

MY EYES HURT, please use darker colours. Reading yellow text is a pain since it's bright as hell and blends with the white background.

If you're talking about this thread (https://forums.wynncraft.com/thread...pe-concept-28-supporters.120277/#post-1325591) then it's about a different point (just with a similar title). His is about adding command block creations to enhance pre-existing dungeons and quests by stopping you AFK-ing in them and moving you about, whereas mine is about adding more things to the player to find and do, giving them a reason to explore.

Besides the fact I couldn't read it without highlighting it, it's an alright suggestion. Maybe needs to be cleaned up a bit, though. Your Canyon of the Lost thing seems to be more of a mini-quest rather than a random player event. I do like the idea of random player events, though.

You also said that, at the start, you feel like you're forced to go follow a certain path, do certain things - however, I feel the complete opposite. I love starting low level classes because you can do whatever the heck you want - after the first Quest, the starting area, it's basically free reign. You can go across the Emerald Trail, to Katoa, or even find the fabled PIG CAVE which is perfect for leveling up at the start.

In short, as I said at the start, it's an alright suggestion. I'm not sure if it'd get implemented, though. :P
