    Leveling your professions as of now is just something to do on your own time, however some players find that later on in the game they’re unable to craft specific weapons that they end up wanting to use because their crafting level or gathering levels are too low.

    I think the game should guide you through leveling your professions equally as your combat level by having more quests that have steps that require you to gather things. For example, a quest that requires you to gather wood and oil to fix a catapult. Or a quest that requires you to gather ingots to forge a sword for a guard or something. This can help level your professions equally and make sure you’re where you should be at your combat level. Plus they’re optional quests so it’s beneficial for those who want it, and there in case you don’t at the time.

    they had better not making leveling profs a requirement for main quests.

    how would this be any different than miniquests though, they're both just gathering items to complete an objective but one of them requires way more work to make
