It took you like 2 hours to drag that thing back, and it was not a fun time. The "made of stone" bit made it heavier by a fair margin, yes, but the combination of dragging it through sand and the statue being like 12 puts you firmly in the "fit adult male" range.

Impressive, yes, but this thing is still the size of a wolf and is still going to maul you.

Unless you dodge, I guess. The statue's still in its coffin, but you move to the other side of the (still bubbling) well/pond from it just to be sure. The creature remains chasing you and --wait, is that your knife? You must have put it down at some point.

    Rock creature bullshit, I'd imagine.
    And yes.

You scurry up the nearest tree. The creature nearly dislodges you when it slams directly into the trunk, but your trusty knife hold you steady.
It claws at the base of the tree, but it's done. It can't climb, you're safe.

    ...

    ...

    Is that fire breath!?
Uh, scratch that, I suppose. The bottom of the tree is now on fire.

    Obviously, we must either:
-Knock the tree over on it
    -Throw water at it
    -Punch it
-Hit it with the knife (because metal beats rock apparently)

But seriously rocks don't like water right and it'll neutralize the fire breath
obviously we should go jump in the lake

    it's a DDOI

Delta pokemon still have the regular types, you silly. They're just altered.
So then we spam Metronome and hope we get lucky.

No no no no, that won't work! The Metronome item only boosts the power of a move if you use it consecutively!

    ...

Wait. That means if I punch this tree a lot while I'm up here, when the tree finally falls down I can stick it to the rock thing!

No, because then the Metronome's effect would wear off. We have to just keep punching!

Faster than I was expecting something like this to happen, to be honest. I know @SkellySniper didn't even intend to try all of these, but the chance was seen and ran with.

Casualty buckles under the strain as you manage to do every last one of these things at once.
    Ability (Re?)Unlocked: Timeline Break:
Split up to five timelines for 15 seconds and then recombine them. Other beings will experience everything that happens in every timeline retroactively, and user will be affected only by the average of them.

[-1 timeline break. 2/3 remaining today]
The tree, rocked back and forth, snapped under the pressure and fell onto the beast, while at the same time taking the brunt of both your punch and your (far more effective) stabbing motion.
Of the remaining two, one of you dived into the deep center of the pond while the other did his best to splash the creature. It hissed at the steam, and you made to meet it in combat -

    - Yet when the five disparate timelines are forced back together, you find yourself shin-deep in the (still ominously bubbling) water. The creature is heavily injured under the tree, and under its rocky exterior you see not more rock but what you can swear is magma. Chips flake off of the 'rock' as it fully immolates the tree above it, coming out of the inferno quite a bit more molten than it entered. Lava drips onto the ground around it as it releases an even larger stream of flame from its mouth and charges.

    Today for the character.

You practically leap out of the water. The charging Rock Beast, blindly moving forward, actually goes under you in a burst of flame.
You buckle as your feet hit the ground. The Rock Beast, right before it hits water, turns around and goes for another pass.

It takes a feint, but you manage to dash behind the statue's coffin. Predictably, once it realizes where you are, the Rock Beast exhales more fire and once again charges like a bull.
    ...
Yeah, it doesn't even look like it cares about the coffin. Despite it not having eyes, you get the feeling that they're laser-focused on you anyway.
