Mod's Rules?

Only when the server is breaking and mods don't have their power typically people spam so much it fills the entire page and more of chat even after mods and non mods ask them to stop and warn of a ban.
Also yes inappropriate spamming.
And usually we mute them if we are online at the time and the actual thread report is usually too late.

 

I'm not even sure what your problem is. My original post was specifically targeted at someone talking about how something common sense wasn't previously in the rules. Also, I'm not sure what we're being secretive about. There's a section at the very top of the front page of the forums labeled "Rules" which has the full listing of in-game (and forum) rules.

As for censorship and autocracy... This isn't the government, democracy has no place here. This is a privately run website and server, and if you don't like how things are run then you don't have to participate. Claiming censorship on somewhere like facebook might have merit because they have a practical monopoly (or at least there aren't any large alternatives at the moment), but on a small niche community that's just an easy-out because you don't like how the community is run. I don't know your specific situation, nor do I particularly want to know (I don't moderate, I'm just here to make sure things are running smoothly). If whatever has gotten you upset was unjust, then go make an appeal. If it is in the past, then you have the choice to either stop playing/posting because you don't agree with our policies, or you can continue playing and obey them.

What you say isn't technically a lie, but it is incredibly dishonest.

I want to note that what I've written here are my own opinions, and do not represent any of the other admins or staff (or wynncraft itself). I'm just always up for some lively debate. I'm also bored at work so there's that.

Same rules as everyone else + don't abuse your powers is the gist of it.

 

I know this will be shocking, but, they have the same rules as we do. I know, unbelievable! I'm still a bit dizzy from the shock upon finding it out

 

We follow the regular rules of the server and we have our own like don't abuse power. We usually have a system where if a mod breaks one they get an amount of chances. After being warned and they break rules again then there is a chance for demotion, sometimes it is delayed for a better time. Trial mods are also demoted if they break the rules or abuse powers for them it is a tighter leash because it reflects what mod they will be if they pass their trial.

 

I didn't report them, I used /report so mods that are online would have been notified right away.

Well you also gotta make sure a mod is online too ;D

I figured why not just explain this so people understand it doesn't show anything that you couldn't piece together by looking at old threads and posts by mods and demotion patterns.

That's what I said. Not what you quoted. That phrase, "unless otherwise specified", is a very important part of what I said. When you take out of context a quote, when you intentionally misrepresent what someone said, you lose. Every time.

but the mods don't specify them, they give warning points, once you get 6 points you get auto banned. (arguably someone specified the program to ban for a week)

 

I think the week is just XenForo.

 

There were multiple staff online. Nothing was dealt with. I made a thread in the reports section, maybe now he'll get in trouble.

It was a happy surprise to see that this thread was not locked for potential reasons.

It was a pleasure (and quite the adventure) to read all opinions, facts and interesting debates located in the thread. I hope that every person involved received clarification, and a closure to what, to me, seemed a very heated subject.

 

Well if it were locked then neither side would be able to explain ourselves, besides while it was a boarder line flame war it wasn't a full one.

 

So much fancy words...

 

It's nice to see the community working things out between them here; having intelligent debates instead of venting hot air at each other (like some communities).
