    After the gavel update, I have noticed that mobs drop A LOT MORE emeralds than usual and not that many items.
    I mean, I see mobs that when they die, they just EXPLODE emeralds.
    can you make it a little bit more items and less emeralds?

    I don't think item rarity has changed. I seem to be getting the same amount of items as before Gavel.

    Emeralds are just more common now.

    Well, the idea is so that you can identify more items. Trust me when I say you don't want to sell an unidentified item.
