    I think the devs didn't want to fall into the creepy valley trap, which occurs when the characters look like humans, but lack something. It becomes creepy and I think they're trying to avoid this.

    I’m not sure what the player models looking too uncanny has to do with the thread though?

    I meant that Minecraft easily avoids it, with highly pixelated graphics, and therefore doesn't even attempt to make itself realistic.

    Minecraft needs an update akin to Operation Health from Rainbow 6 Siege. Don’t add a ton of new content, just fix the issues that have been neglected for years.
