Merchant Escort Missions

The Merchant Escort mission is one where you escort a merchant caravan from one city to another.

This would range from a Level 5 one donkey cart from Maltic to Ragni, to a Level 20 four wagon caravan from Nemract to Almuj.

The escort would be a collection of blocks that would move it's length every 100 ticks/5 seconds along the appropriate roads connecting the towns. There would be NPCs as well, and these NPCs can be attacked by mobs. The NPCs would have the same number of hearts as an average player character of the base escort level. PCs can heal them.

But, be careful about using AoE attacks, as they will also hurt or kill the NPCs.

And that's important. You get rewarded based on how many of the NPCs arrive at the target city, and how many are injured.

Rewards would be 10 emeralds per escort mission level, divided equally among a party. A level 5: 50 emeralds, a level 20: 200 emeralds. Experience is per person, and is 20 xp per mission level. Also, for every 10 levels of escort mission, there will be a random item of the same level awarded to each PC.

Repurpose pirates could be used as bandits that can attack larger caravans at least once during the mission. Their level shouldn't be higher than the escort level, except for one boss at 2 levels higher. Also, there shouldn't be more than 3 per PC escorting the caravan.
