Game Mechanics Mantle of the Bovemists suggestion

    I feel like this ability could be better. 70% DR is great, but it's true value fluctuates too much. Here is what I think isn't so good:
    • It aways procs, whenever you take damage or not (e.g., dodge + counter) (I tested it and could be wrong, but I don't think I am).
    • You may reduce a big chunk of damage or really nothing. Furthermore, if you want to maintain enemies taunted for example, you have to activate it almost all the time off cooldown even if trying to avoid it.
    • It seems to have a lingering DR after a stack is lost due to been hit (according to the Wiki it should be 0.5 seconds and I've been said that it got changed to something else but couldn't find the new value though), but it is still possible to lose multiple stacks at the same time (e.g., being hit by multiple stacked mobs, kinda easy to happen due War Scream pulling enemies onto the player). I don't think that losing stacks while the DR is still present is intended and it may be bugged, but it could be the intended design (which would make no sense to me).
    • All stacks are lost by changing weapons. Don't really mind that much but still feels kinda meh since it can't do damage to justify losing all stacks.
    How I suggest it could be improved w/o changing it too much:
    • Make it not proc whenever you don't take damage even when hit.
    • Make it possible to use War Scream w/o activating the ability (like Shift + War Scream or something (Don't use the same input as Bak'al's Grasp though, please)), so the players can have real controll when to use it.
    • Show the DR duration in the ability's tooltip and make it so that it sin't possible to lose multiple Mantles at the same time.
    • Make it so that the stacks don't disappear by changing the current hotbar slot (Shield Strike should be only activated when the last stack is lost while holding a weapon still).
    On another note, it could be reworked to make that it isn't all centered on a giant burst DR, but a weaker DR/sustain that lingers for more time. Here are some ideas:
    • Reduce the DR. Extend the DR duration after you lose a stack (make it so stacks can't be lost during it).
    • Gain a small shield scaling with %Hp that lasts for a few seconds after losing a stack. It should take damage before you even in the hit that procs it.
    • If a stack is lost while an existing Bovemist shield exist, it can refresh the previous shield's duration + strengthen it or just be a separated shield or something like that.
    • There may or may not be a total shield cap.
    This idea is to make it so that the Mantle of the Bovemists value fluctuates less by giving the player a shield at the cost of less DR, making it good against light hits while still being against heavy hits.


    That is my suggestion. Hope it can be of some use.
