I have seen a lot of posts where people use builds that use high damage low attack speed weapons, and use armours that buff attack speed, and I was wondering how well the opposite would work, using high attack speed low damage weapons, and using armours and talismans that buff the elemental damage, main attack damage, and main attack neutral damage stats.

That would just be... a normal melee build? Do you mean by "the opposite" that also the attack speed would be brought to super slow?

if you're gonna use a super fast weapon with minimal damage and want to make it useful for melee, then just build raw main attack damage instead of the %main attack damage

No, the attack speed would stay normal

I'm sorry, I'm quite new to wynncraft and didn't realise that that was a normal build.

It's fine, melee builds are usually one of three categories: Tierstack (+attack speed), Heavy melee (low attack speed, high dmg) or cancelstack (first -attack speed with strong items, then +attack speed).

Just adding damage technically isn't a "normal" build, if you want to classify "normal" as "popular build type", but it would just be adding damage to a weapon, which usually doesn't perform as well as other, more complex builds. I'm not sure how to classify that type of build, "normal" is just the first word that popped to my mind. Maybe "casual"? I'm not great at wording things.

You shouldn't only use %, especially on weaker weapons, instead combine it with some raw damage, as for example +50% on 100 raw (150) is notably less than +30% on 250 raw (325).

Lot of misinformation going around, as well as notable build types being completely ignored.

    Melee divides into:
    - Tierstack, which is the first type you describe - slower weapons being boosted with +attack speed
    - Fast raw melee, which is roughly what you seem to be thinking of - building damage on faster weapons using raw melee (officially labeled main attack neutral damage, but everyone just calls it raw melee)
    - Heavy melee, which relies on the attack speed capping out at a slow value, so you can use items with extremely high raw melee and -attack speed, and still get damage despite being so slow
    - Cancelstack, which is essentially Fast raw melee except it's built by using a Heavy melee armor piece and canceling the -attack speed with +attack speed from other gear.

This is much better than whatever I was trying to say, just look at this, I'm not that experienced in class builds
