    This is due to a glitch in the system.

    Presently, only neutral damage is converted to a spell's element, while in the past all damage was converted. This is entirely unintentional, and Salted is well aware of it. Like any bug, we are looking to fix it as soon as possible.

    I'd use that even if it had 1 powder slot. Mana regen is nice to have.

    Or you could use the powder slots on a thunder-air bow for water damage AND curse

    Or you could just practically recreate Maelstrom 2.0 by adding a tier IV water, thunder and air powder to a Bob's Mythic Bow, and find some spell/elemental damage boosting armor/accessories. That's what I did, except it isn't as powerful as the original Maelstrom.
