    You just need to speak to the NPC in the volcano (Same as in the movie, but he throws it in the movie :D)

    You can't throw it out of your inventory because it's a quest item. Lord of the clock is pretty much a lord of the rings copy, so you have to take the clock to Mt wynn & talk to the guy there.
    Oh, and watch out for deranged mutant villagers looking for their 'precious', that happens too.
