Wynncraft's current loot system is kinda lame. Besides the fact that most of the items in the game are uninspired, uninteresting, and unused, they also are unprofitable. It's easy enough to acquire legendary items as well as some good rare items, additionally, most of the items you get are not for your class or not fit for your build. So in the end the majority of the items that you do get are useless to you, some you might take for your other classes, but fact remains that the wide majority of loot is useless. But wait! The geniuses behind Wynncraft have a system where you can sell your hard earned loot for emeralds. Ah, so there is a benefit to obtaining loot. I mean, after all my hard work trying to get the best items for my character, I should also be able to benefit from the items I won't be using. And a system like this is no surprise in an mmorpg. Players get items they won't use all the time, and there is always a means to exchange, sell, or scrap items that you don't need. The most common thing players do when they have useless items is to, of course, sell them. At least making a profit from your endeavors of looting and adventuring is reasonable. And this whole system is, well it would be, if the loot you gained was even profitable at all. Unidentified items, at high levels, sell for maybe 20 emeralds if you're lucky. If you're unlucky and low leveled try maybe 2 emeralds. So identify them 5head, they can sell for up to 200 emeralds! Oh, what's that? Identifying them costs slightly less than selling them, so the margin of profit is stupidly small? Oh cool, so basically it's absolutely meaningless to pick up anything that's not a mythic or legendary and maybe even rare every once in a while? It's incredibly discouraging and even upsetting when you spend hours looting for some of the best items, and result in obtaining jack shit. But wait, I can sell what I did earn, oh wait it's worth nothing. Here is one of the results of the many loot runs I've had this past week or so.

This block of text is unreadable. You should format it.

Anyways, there’s a reason there’s an item team: every item is unique. Some might not fit your build or seem boring to you, but someone else will possibly be intrested in it. One man’s junk is another’s treasure.

And with the new update, you can scrap them. Because if you are using a crafted item, it gets weaker over time. So you need to use scrap to repair it.

Also, really, did you NOT see the giant block of text that said ”feedback?”

Identifying actually now costs more on average than selling, so you lose money identifying on average.

Listen, if the content team understand that there is an issue, but not do anything about it, then they don't care about the quality of the game. If they do understand this issue, and want to do something about it, then it's really obvious what needs to be done. If the content team needs me to explicitly tell them what's wrong, then they have some massive gaps in logic. It would be common sense to either reward players with more emeralds per sale or lower the cost of identifying. It can be easily asserted that those are the two best solutions.

Really a small excuse to tackle a large problem, also I'm new to the forums and I quite frankly don't give a fuck about your reading comfort. There are words on the screen, so just read it, it's not hard unless you don't read often. But thanks, I'll put my feedback in the right place.

Listen, people are much less likely to read a block of text than a well-formattted thread.
Because it just looks so much easier on the eye.

That's why everyone who has been on the forums for a few days and likes having eyes uses the dark theme.

I quite frankly don't care about the quantity of people who read my post, I only want the people that matter. The content team, I'm sure, is full of grown adults who won't bitch about their poor eyes while reading a block of text. Furthermore I'm certain they wouldn't reject my feedback, because I didn't bother formatting it, because the condition of the game is more valuable than me satiating their need for reading comforts. If you'd like to further criticize my lazy typing habits, than private message me, I don't wan't this thread to be cluttered with nonsense.

Ok so here's how it works.

You don't decide what people post on your thread. There's no reason for this thread not to be formatted and while it may not directly impact your idea, it will impact everyone's view of your, especially with this kind of behaviour. It's not like you can't have a good thread and also have a properly formatted thread at the same time. If you reply like this to every post then frankly everyone is going to hate you and you won't get far in this community. Not having the community on your side isn't exactly the best way to spread your ideas or being on a public forum in general. It's not like the CT is going to change something just because one person doesn't like it. They added it into the game. If you just tell them "your shit bad" then you won't get anywhere. If you amass a large amount of supporters for your idea then you do have a better chance of your idea being accepted.

First, if you're so smart go sign up for CT

Second, not all items have to be useful for you because you are not the only person who plays this game

Third, you can bet that the CT care about this game. No CT even gets payed to spend coubtless hours, days, weeks, or months. Would someone who doesn't care about the game do that,

Fourth, if item buying was much more rewarding than identifying, we would have massive inflation and it would fuck up the economy, exactly what the new update is supposed to fix.

Fifth, If you want your "suggestion" to be taken seriously, you should actually try to make it look good, don't just jam your fingers into your keyboard and call it good.

Sixth, Scrap is much more useful than it seems. It's easy af to get but it also dries up in like a split second with how much it can cost to repair certain items.

Seventh, The content team isn't all adults, partially adults and kids (mostly 14+ iirc) who have a large realm of knowledge in their respective areas.

Eight, if you're an adult then you one of the worst examples of one in the world, no decent adult goes on a game forum and calls everyone that disagrees "bitching kids" either that or you're 12 pretending to be an adult (likely)

Ninth, Content team will judge partially based on your typing habits because if it's poorly written then the writer clearly doesn't care enough about it and thus it's not important. But they will look anyway and I guarantee a staff member has seen your suggestion.

Tenth, this thread got cluttered with nonsence when you posted it.

Also, inflation is matched with higher in game prices in video game economies. Back in the hay day of diablo 3, before the no trade policy, inflation was accounted for with increased prices. With inflation comes economic growth, because more emeralds in circulation results in more trades occurring. Inflation is not a cause for concern in video game economies like they are in real life, especially if there is a marketplace. Maplestory, for example, had massive inflation, yet had a thriving economy thanks to the market place. Looting is really unrewarding in Wynncraft, there's pretty much no reason to do it at all besides getting legendaries and maybe mythics. Do you really want a video game economy where the majority of emeralds come from people's vaults, mob drops, which I imagine don't make up for much of all the le, and the market place? Emeralds are gonna be scarce as fuck, the richest players will trade with the richest players, whilst poorer players are going to have to rely on either making shops, completing, quests or slaving away at the trade market. None of these are easy or incredibly efficient. Plus poor players tend to be players who play the least amount of Wynn. A steady source of emeralds have to be poured into the economy if you really mean business, and the ability to sell items for a reasonable margin of profit, say 150% of current selling rates, isn't really enough to keep a sustained video game economy, especially for poorer players. Or players who don't pour as many hours into the game, but want to buy good/decent items. So in my video I made 1,704 emeralds from selling an inventory full of items. Increasing sales rates by 50% would've netted me 2556 emeralds, and so my margin of profit would've been 956 emeralds, which is about 15 emerald blocks of profit. Getting those items took about 45 minutes to an hour. So if I play for 3 hours a day for 7 days a week for 3 weeks then I have about 63 inventory fulls of loot, and say each inventory full makes me a profit of 956 emeralds. In under a month of seeking out loot I make 14.7le. Considering the fact that most players don't play so rigorously and purely for selling items, and considering the fact that identifying apparently costs more than sales. I'd be realistically making way less, but idealistically I'd still be making a little less than that. 50% is a totally arbitrary number, even a 40% or 30% increase rate would be massively beneficial for poorer players. It'd make looting feel like it's actually beneficial. Players like me wouldn't be constantly scraping by, because I quite frankly don't have as much time to play as I want to. So when I do get to play, getting loot should feel rewarding. I shouldn't be set back for adventuring out and collecting riches. Also here are some fun numbers: If you played religiously for 365 for 3 hours a week and only looted you'd make around 255 le, the max size of an int. With that same concept, if you had an increase of 35% in item value, you'd make 187le. These numbers are very rough, and do not represent the true value, because I made them based off of my profits, which were actually lucky.

I've observed this community somewhat, and I've been on a plethora of video games forums for the past 8-9 years, so I have good experience. I don't care if people hate me, and I don't care about my formatting. I'm busy and lazy, but I want to try and bring about change. If my less than polite behavior is what determines whether or not my feedback is taken seriously, then I have absolutely no respect for the content team; as creative as they are. And really, I don't care if I have the community on my side. Most of the people I know in my life are pretty stupid, most of the people I know on forums are emotional than anything. And my thread wasn't just "your shit bad" there was an issue that I pointed out, and the fix is sorta obvious. I don't want supporters nor need supporters. If people support me, then cool. If people don't support me out of spite, then cool. Also, thanks for being polite. Perhaps I could learn a thing or two from you.

Hey, thanks for writing this thread the feedback is appreciated! However, there are some arguements I'd like to make against increasing the rates too much. Inflation *can* be healthy for a video game economy, but it isn't always, and if we enter a system of hyperinflation then suddenly all the money is useless and has to be abandoned entirely. To prevent this from happening, the sell price was decreased. The game gives you a set number of emeralds to help push you into the market and allows newer players to start to trade, but if too much LE is injected in, this jumpstart's value begins to slip, and it can be harder for the more casual players to get started.

As for the rest of what was said here. Guys please try to avoid a flame war. I know that there isn't one yet and one might not have even started, but better to avoid the potential entirely. @PrimaNocta, honestly everything that you've said about formatting your thread isn't really all that fair. I'm not going to judge you because the thread was in a huge block, but I will say it made it much more annoying to read. I get that you are busy, but we are to, and the lack of interest in improving readability conveys that you believe your time is more valuable than your readers, which I'm not sure is exactly what you want to be impling. The other statement that I feel needs to be responded to if you stating that "I don't care if I have the community on my side." Most of the content team that creates this game was drawn from this very community, and many members, including myself are still active in it. Stating that you do not care what the community thinks by extention applies to the content team itself.

The sell price decrease is understandable, but it's current state is just abysmal. The total %increase in sell price really doesn't have to be much to make the difference of making looting worth it. A 20% flat increase on all items across the board make looting go from worse than useless to practical. The amount of gains players make is enough to sustain the economy, not create hyperinflation. We're not gonna be post world war I Germany if you increase all sell values by 20%.

Also your whole theory on lowering sell prices to lower inflation, so newer players have a better chance only works in an environment where everyone is on equal ground. So many old players are coming back, many rich old players with stores of le in their banks. The market is already inflated to the extent where new players can't thrive in it. You've essentially made looting, an extremely important part of any mmorpg, harmful to players. They'd be better off not even picking up items and selling them. What does that say about your game to new players when you solely encourage them to join the market dominated by the richest and most active players of all time? They're the ones who gather resources and sell the goods and make profit off of the market. New players aren't gonna start crafting stuff and buying said goods from other players. They're gonna get loot from the game and use that most of the time, because spending what little money you have on mediocre equipment other people make is not gonna occur. What poor player is going to spend their money on other poor player's goods? They can't even afford the good stuff. Most players don't dump 3 hours into Wynncraft a day either, they can't be bothered gathering resources to make more mediocre equipment that will never sell. The most common goods in the market and most often sold goods in the market are high level, expensive goods. Middle and high class players are the ones benefiting most from the market. If you genuinely cared about new players, who are the poor players. Then you'd give them the option to sell items at a decent price to even join the market.

Also, I don't believe I'm really wasting many seconds of your time by not formatting, but I have respect for you so I shall give you that courtesy.

Lastly, I don't think I need community support for stuff like this. The community is against me, because I'm a cunt and because communities are a hive mind. It's often a popularity contest in places like these, and to make it you gotta be fucking politically correct, polite, nice, and all that shit. But fuck that, I'm not sucking up to the community for popularity points. I'm fucking lazy and I have a suggestion, and communities make actions based on their emotions. I care about and respect individuals who like my ideas for what they are, not how I fucking decorate them. If the community hates me for my personality, and as a result are ignorant to the substance of my words, then we wouldn't really have much of a community as we do a tribal playground of shit throwers. I have respect for individuals in this thread, especially ones that actually read what I say and speak with their minds not with their hearts.

My mind tells me that if you can’t get people to respect you outside of the suggestion, what chance do you have for them to respect the suggestion.

My mind also said that even out of communities, this mentality won’t get you far in life.

My mind also tells me that update was built in a way to award that the more work and time you put in, the more you get back, meaning people who put in less work, sadly people with less time, will get rich. This means that if have less time to put in, you will probably get less money than someone who has more time put in.
