Pets & Horses Level Up Your Pseudodragon!

The pseudodragon is my favourite mob. This is it:

Adorable, isn't it? They act like a mercenary. After you go near it, it follows you around and attacks mobs for you. It's out of the way, in that weird cherry blossom place with the chinese temple in the Canyon of the Lost.

My suggestion is that, instead of it just spawning, it comes out of its cave when you come close. It starts at Level 1, at which point it's as powerful as it is now. Not an ordinary mob level, of course. You take it around the canyon, it kills things and gains experience like a player would. Once it levels up, it gains +50 damage per hit (spread across elements) and +250 health. At each level it also gets a different perk with this. The maximum level is 20. The focus here is that Level 20 would be a nice thing to have at Level 100. Instead of dying, it would be stunned for 10 minutes.

Here's the unique perks for each level after 1:
2: It takes -30% damage from its owner's attacks.
3: It can now jump up to 3 blocks horizontally and 1 block vertically.
4: It can now shoot a fireball every minute, dealing double the usual damage as fire damage in an explosion.
5: It gains +50 resistance to all elements.
6: It now has a 10% chance to score a critical hit.
7: It now has +10% Stealing
8: It can now hiss at enemies to taunt them for 5 seconds. Range of 20 blocks.
9: It now has +20% Movement Speed
10: It can now jump up to 7 blocks horizontally and 2.5 blocks vertically.
11: It now grants you 1/4 mana regen when within 10 blocks.
12: It takes no damage from its owner's attacks.
13: It heals 500 hp after killing something.
14: It can now shoot a fireball every 30 seconds.
15: It now has +100 resistance to all elements.
16: It can now jump up to 14 blocks horizontally and 5 blocks vertically.
17: Hissing now lasts for 10 seconds, with a range of 30 blocks.
18: It can now perform a tier 1 version of Spin Attack from Assassin. 45 second CD.
19: It can now perform a tier 1 version of Bash from Warrior. 45 second CD.
20: It can now teleport to enemies. It now has +40% Movement Speed.

When it's lost you, it goes back to its cave to be summoned again.
No idea why I made this.
I'll probably do them for the other kinds of blue mob l8r.

Don't think this is such a good idea due to other kinds of friendly mobs; it'd be too out-of-the-ordinary.

Might make more versions for the other blue-named mobs in the future.

 

The problem is, this isn't the only mob acting like this. For example, the Lonely Wolf in the tutorial area.

This isn't Pokemon. Those are supposed to be temporary mobs that die eventually. Good job on keeping it around for so long, but a levelling system would be a lot of work when people would hardly get mobs like this higher than level 2 or 3.
