So here's the thing: even ignoring all the money stuff and shadiness, this simply doesn't make business sense. Unless there is already a decently sized playerbase that would benefit from translations, it simply isn't worth the effort. The community translation stuff I've seen is great, but unless there's a singular large group that already exists in some respect, it isn't worth building systems to support them. Yeah sure it'd be nice to have but would you rather have effort focused on what a very small percentage of the player base wants, or something that will benefit everyone?

Not sure if this was mentioned or if it will do anything, but what about using the minecraft translation? Does that do anything, i mean it should translate most of the in-game text. (right? ;-;)

 

Only translates blocks and stuff, not chat or cmd blocks. (or plugins)

 

That doesn't actually do any translation itself. It switches between predefined translations for the UI and text that comes with minecraft.
