Guys, I know that I'm not usually serious, but this time, I am. My spanish teacher assigned a project where we have to make a music video explaining the grammar topic we were assigned (I was assigned subject pronouns, which are like "I", "you", "we", etc., in English). I thought it would be a good idea to do it to the tune of "Do Re Mi" from 'The Sound of Music" because it's a similar list of words. Anyway, this is the script I have so far, but I need halp <.<

(If you haven't seen the original song, you should, but I put the original line in parenthesis, and the parodied line I wrote before it)

Just like in English (Let’s start at the very beginning)

Spanish has subject pronouns (A very good place to start)

They are known as “yo tu el” (When you read you begin with “a b c”)

As well as “ella usted nos” (When you sing you begin with “do re mi”)

Vos ellos ellas (do re mi)

Don’t forget about ustedes * (The first three notes just happen to be “do re mi”)

These are all of the subject pronouns! (do re mi fa so la ti)

Now let’s take a look at what they mean (Let’s see if I can make this easier)

Yo means “I”, what you call yourself (Doe, a deer, a female deer)

Tu means “you”, familiar and singular (Ray, a drop of golden sun)

El and ella, they mean “he” and “she” (Me, a name, I call myself)

Usted, formal and singular** (Fa, a long long way to run)

Nos means “we”, used to express camaraderie (So, a needle pulling thread)

Vos means “you all” but only used in Spain (La, a note to follow so)

Ellos, plural form of el (Tea, I drink with jam and bread)

Including ellas and ustedes *** (That will bring us back to doe)

*So this line is interesting, the additional "do re mi" sound like they should be in the next line, but I can't think of how to work around that. Watch the original song if you don't understand what I mean
**Usted means "you", just like tu, but it's used formally, while tu is used informally. I can't think of a way to say that usted means you while staying within the rhythm
***I should specify that ellas and ustedes is the plural form of ella and usted respectively, but I can't think of a way to do that while staying within the rhythm

I need more to it (including phrases in spanish to explain the usage of the words) but this is what I got so far

I took Spanish in middle and highschool, and they didn't assign me any of this song nonsense so I don't know what Spinel's school is doing?

 

My spanish teacher is notorious throughout the entire school; Everyone hates her because she expects way too much of us. She gave us quizzes that were in Spanish since the beginning of the year (Spanish I btw). A couple months ago, she assigned a group project where we had to convince people to take a vacation to the Spanish speaking country we were assigned (My group was assigned Colombia). For the project, we had to do...

• A brochure (a trifold, basically a poster but on a folded piece of paper)
• A diorama, showcasing the flora and fauna of the location
• Cook a dish from the country (not a hypothetical recipe, we had to actually make and bring in food)
• A narrated and edited video, explaining what you can do during the trip
• A sheet of paper with 20 or so facts about the country, as well as a Kahoot to go with it (the Kahoot in question was supposed to ask questions relating to the facts on the fact sheet)

I might be missing something, but you get the idea
