Poor Sw/Sh. I think it deserves more credit than what people are giving it (some people were complaining about reused animation when every game series reuses assets from previous games, that’s called being efficient) but on the other hand, I can’t say that the people hating it are completely wrong

 

Even if it is a cash grab, I don't think it's trash, I just don't want to support them for making these games, and don't think they're worth playing.

 

That’s fair. Honestly, people forget that it’s just a video game for god’s sake; If it looks like something you would enjoy, then pick it up, if not, then don’t buy it. Personally, I don’t play pokemon for the main story anymore; After I beat the Alola games, I didn’t touch them for a year and a half. Recently though, I’ve gotten back into it and learned about competitive battling, which is surprising deep considering how easy the main story always is. I’m only really excited for SwSh at this point for that aspect. The online looks better than ever, and Dynamaxing, even though its a gimmick that literally no one asked for, looks like it will bring interesting strategies

 

I play pokemon showdown, and I am also EXTREMELY excited for the new combat gimmicks

 

Oh, right, Showdown exists lol.

I guess I could just play that, but eh...Imo, collecting your ‘mons and training them is part of the fun, which showdown doesn’t really have. I know that the grinding required for that is not for everyone, but for me, its the journey, not the destination that counts.
