The way my teacher does them, what you have to do is read a book for an hour and a half, then you have to summarize what you read, and then make a connection between the book and something we did in class (e.g.: If a character in your book has depression and a character in a story we read in class also has depression, you could write about that.) It’s actually not that hard because you only have to do this once per week and you don’t have to write something for every day, but reading novels is just a tedious process for me and I hate it.

You do this every day or every week? 'Cause 90 mandatory minutes a day would be pretty fucked up.

Doesn't sound too hard unless you dislike reading the book. Then it's horrible. :l

I like reading articles and things that interest me, but i despise reading novels. I have a short attention span and reading long novels doesn’t feel rewarding to me.

Then the system should cater to your interests and likings, not force the same traditional expectations on everyone. You should get to choose from a variety and learn more about the things useful to you.
Cool, I used to read a lot, I haven't the past six months, mostly because I didn't want to anymore. It just feels forced. I'd like to read more again, but I don't enjoy it anymore.

What're the topics that interest you?

When I was small, it was mystery.
Then it moved on to any generic fantasy.
Now it's just any Asian fantasy. >.> (Mainly Chinese with some Korean and a bit of Japanese)
I used to always have 2 books on hand. Now I just walk around with my phone. :L
(Which is totally good for my eyesight)

Yet another reason to dislike the (american) school system.

I don’t have much of a preference of things that interest me, but technology and science interest me the most. Just not boring shit like weather and waves, I like biology and chemistry the best.

Looking at a screen isn't actually worse for your eyes than reading a book. The major difference in how likely you are to develop sight issues is how much time you spend outside, regardless of what you're doing inside. That's why everyone started having to wear glasses more and more since the industrial era.

Asian fantasy? Like, old books or new books? Never really looked into the genre.
Yeah, that aspect is essentially the same here. What you're told to do is what you have to do. Science be cool.

The problem is looking at the screen at night.

Yeah, the light tricks your brain that it's still daytime, and thus makes you less tired.
    Cultivation...?
Do you find it boring or uninteresting, or is it something else?
    No hate here *hug*

I find that I'm more active with electronics, which tores ne out faster.
Like training to rank up in power I guess. :/
    It's all memorization.
    Hydrogen has 2 Electrons
The fields are like 2 8 10 something...
ATP is a type of energy I can't remember.
    A-T/U, G-C for DNA/RNA
Remember the distance formula to calculate with the velocity formula to calculate the acceleration formula
The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell.

Like, yeah I know why it's useful. I can kinda see why some people would like it. But it gets sooooo boring for me.
Sitting there listening to a lecture. Reading from a textbook. Searching for the answers to the given questions within. Doing labs with preset instructions and therefore an already known ending.
    Etc.
    // End of rant. :p //
    *hugs*

Okay, doesn't make sense to me but sure...
I understand that. School teaches science pretty badly. Science in itself isn't about memorization, it's about understanding things, not remembering unimportant details. Like, wtf are lightning bolts made of? Then you check, then you understand. You shouldn't have to remember things just to remember them, you should have to understand the concepts and be capable of explaining them. A lot of science is a bit too extensive in school as well. Everyone should know what DNA is in this day and age, but it shouldn't be prioritized over practical knowledge and no pupil should be forced to learn complex genetics if they don't want to. They won't use that unless they like using it.
    End of second ranterino.

I had an exam today and we could leave when we were done. I was done first, so now I have around two extra hours of free time idk what to do with. Suggestions?
