how is health based healing relevant? the fact remains that almost all wands heal enough to fill your hp bar with one heal if theyre at decent hp

Healing is SUPPOSED to work off of Water Damage%

HOWEVER, it works off of Health, this makes Tank Mages broken and such. This isn't supposed to happen as it is a bug. So healing 11k with Monster should be natural. If you went full tank, your heals should reach above 20k.

It was a failed joke. Anyway, I'm interested to see if they give Lament a buff in some form, if so, it's probably to scale with the fixed healing system... if it comes out...

Personally, debating as to whether Lament is good enough or not, I honestly have to agree with some people arguing that lament does in fact need a buff.

Many people are arguing that Lament is fine considering it's supposed to be a "support wand", right? However, I feel that argument is anything but valid, considering that in the current game state, Lament does not fill the role of a support, simply because any wand can heal with the click of 3 buttons. This is not the way it is meant to be, I get that. However, when is this going to get fixed? I do not want to have to sit around with an underpowered wand simply because we're all here waiting for a heal fix to come. We could be waiting a very damn long time until such a fix comes out.

So, I get that Lament is a support wand. But now, when the heal fix does end up coming, how is Lament really going to turn out? Not just "hurr durr Lament OP support wand ex dee" but really, will it be viable, especially with a weapon like King of Hearts in existence. I mean, if King of Hearts ends up being this killer OP healing wand, then what is the point of using Lament? All I would have to do is switch out to the weapon, heal myself, then switch back to my main attacking weapon. If such a strategy can be used with the new healing system, then there is no reason whatsoever to use Lament, which requires the user to sacrifice damage just so he can have healing powers on his main weapon. I do weapon switching constantly with my Grandmother build, I see no reason why it would be any harder on mage. With this in mind, I'd rather use Fatal and King of Hearts as a heal wand, rather than use just Lament.

In short, currently the user is forced to sacrifice DPS (of which can be rivaled by other wands) just because Lament has a support status. However, this support feature is currently unavailable because the heal coding is broken at the moment, so until then all desperate Lament users will have to wait. And even then, will Lament be viable as a support-damage wand?

My thoughts are that Lament should get a minor buff, say an extra powder slot (also 7-6 neutral damage makes my eyes hurt). If you guys choose not to buff it, however, you better be damn sure this heal fix is going to work. Because the way I see it, Lament's support bonus can easily be rendered obsolete merely by weapon switching.

Personally, I believe Lament should be 100% elemental, it should have MR instead of MS (who actually finds mana steal useful?), and it should have normal attack speed. With these changes, it would be cohesive with the other water mythical weapons!

    - 1/4 to 4/4 Mana Regen

    - 350 to 450 water damage, normal attack speed (no neutral)

    - Decrease the water damage % slightly (maybe to 42%?)

Mana regen doesn't work because we can't add IDs and adding a free reroll is messy, has no guarantee and not even possible as far as we know. Even if this was all possible it would mean the only meaningful negative on the item can be safely ignored, which is pointless.

It would mean that this mythic would actually be good. Lament, in my opinion, has been crap for years, and it makes me debate why it exists. However, even if changing it to MR wouldn't be possible, there is no valid reason to not change the other compartments I stated, which was changing it to normal attack speed with the damages I stated (100% elemental), and slightly decreasing the water damage.

Also, this is a general question - doesn't mana steal work by hitting a mob by melee (correct me if I'm wrong)? But then it has negative life steal, so you're loosing health and constantly having to heal because of this which makes element of the wand so bizarre.

Additionally, Lament should not be seen as a support wand at all - if this excuse is said. There's much better support wands now, which makes Lament pretty much dead.

10 mana steal isn't exactly a little. The issue with mana steal is that you can't cast spells until you can melee attack again, which is a bug. When that's fixed then lament will have much more access to mana than other wands, at the cost of casting a single heal spell which you'd be doing at end game either way.

Terrifying close (Yes I factored for Black Catalyst Set Bonus, with the exception of the mana which I can't add on to the link)

If you're wondering why there are different builds, I'll explain. Lament has a lot of neutral dmg, which gets scattered by meteor's spell conversion, as you all know. Thus the build tries to shift dmg bonus weight into spell % or raw in addition to also using Gaea-Hewn Boots which covers the elements Lament deals with meteors. All in all the build (for Lament) deals more than if Lament were to be used in a raw spell build. Nepta Floodbringer only dealing water is better off with the standard raw spell build.

Gonna have to agree with the community on this one.

Mana steal isn't really the main concern; it can't be changed nonetheless. But, the other aspects which I said should be considered as it would help the wand to seem less of a joke.

Let me say some shits ha.(literally can’t sleep)

    Nepta-> super fast Atk speed
    Lament->slow atk speed

ASSUMING on same damage dealed in -500 water def mobs/players.

    Nepta > Lament

ASSUMING on same damage dealed in +500 water def mobs/players.

    Lament > Nepta

Conclusion: penetration take Lament, multiplying damage take nepta.

Although Lament still shit on penetration.
    ——————————————————————
    Stats compare:
ASSUMING same hp amount on build AND WATER DAMAGE% NOT AFFTECT HEALING
    Lament: -0 hp
    Nepta: -1000 hp(generally?)

    Heal amount: Lament > Nepta

    Actually useless point
More normal to say, why not heal with Bonder.
Is switching wand just so hard? Yes when u are using trackpad.
    ————————————————————————
I heard about that Lament should be the support wand somehow, you can say Lament’s 10/4 ms is the point and the water damage % increase the heal amount.
Talk about the 10/4 ms yes it’s good while u casting spell melee the mob and gain 10 mana, 1 question, do u really need that 10 mana from melee? I mean you already have a int build, generally have tons of mana regen like 12+/4, it’s RLY enough for you to use, unless u cast same spell for 20+time or casting combo so fast in 5secs which cost more than 12 mana with 147 int, I’m fine for that it feels like being single for 30 years. But in common sense, don’t need the ms lol. The real situation for using the ms, is when SERVER LAGGING, no joke, most of the time it won’t be n/4 but n/7+, ms PROBABLY can save, nice thought rebalancing team.

Maybe because you weren't meant to use Lament in a full mana regen build? Why need to use a mana regen build when you can already get 10+ mana per hit? Also, I've heard that you can get mana steal from meteor's flaming ground, not sure if it still happens.

Mana steal just isn't as reliable compared to Mana Regen a constant stream of Mana also the Mana steal is annoying to be used along with negative life. I would much rather have 4/4 Mana Regen than Mana steal.

Mind also that Mana Steal can activate on multiple hits, same with Life Steal. This means that, thanks to Mage's wide-hitting melee attack, swinging into a small crowd of mobs is an essential guarantee that your mana will cap out versus the four-second wait between mana regeneration pulses. You haven't got to risk getting close to the enemy, and you're given a lot of leeway while striking for the Steal. And, yeah the life steal is annoying, but given how strong your heals will inevitably be, will that really matter?

In addition, I was debating whether or not to give King of Hearts a requirement, and this discussion has essentially confirmed it. It's based on regeneration, pinch healing, and party healing, and what build best fits that? Check Special Warning soon to see, or just guess, I dunno. Either way, it, along with the other Lv 97 loot-exclusive rare weapons, were semi-joke items sort of in the vein of Pandemonium, but actually usable in some instances rather than 100% for a reaction, so even if this over-nerfs it, I doubt people will lose sleep over it.
