King's Recuit bugged

i can't get past the bridge as a returning player, it wont let me destroy the tree to the left of it (it didn't even tell me I needed to), and I'm not sure what to do. at least I didn't try to come back to this on one of my higher/more progressed characters and its just a level 4 mage...

I fixed it, I disconnected, reconnected, went over to the bridge again, and the shift to continue worked that time. hope this helps anyone with the same issue
