If you recall correctly, the main story of Wynn was fighting the corruption, not becoming a Pirate Queen or fighting Qira. Eventually, by level 70, the main story has lost all of its element, you don’t hear the word corruption mentioned in any major quest from then on. So maybe I thought that there would be a quest where you revisit everything you’ve done in your time in Wynn. To do this you must show that you have done every major quest in the game up till now.

Stage 1: Talk to The Keeper at [x,z] (somewhere in the cloud realm in Fortuneteller, so you have to do that quest to get up)

The Keeper [1/6]: Welcome, adventurer. You have come to the land you would call Heaven.

The Keeper [2/6]: You have gone through a lot in your time in this realm, I can see it in your eyes. I can see it in the scars on your body, inflicted by the monsters created by the corruption and the decay.

The Keeper [3/6]: For that, you are welcome into the heavenly realm known as the afterlife, for you have played your part in your life.

The Keeper [4/6]: Only the most valiant warriors are allowed entry into this realm.

The Keeper [5/6]: However, one must still prove their strength in order to prove themselves worthy.

The Keeper [6/6]: There was once a Wynnic soldier named Bob, you may know who he was. He is one of the most esteemed warriors in the afterlife. Bring me his [Seal of Approval] and you will be granted access.

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: There is a bank next to the Keeper and a scroll merchant to teleport back. One [Afterlife Scroll] costs 5 eb and one [Tomb Scroll] costs 10 eb. The Tomb Scroll brings you directly to the pathway to Bob’s Battle Room and the Afterlife Scroll only works in the Battle Room. The gateway to the realm is coal blocks.

Stage 2: Bring The Keeper 1 [Bob’s Seal of Approval]

The Keeper [1/4]: You got the Seal?

The Keeper [2/4]: How?!?! Didn’t Bob die decades ago?

The Keeper [3/4]: If you are able to bring me this Seal, it truly shows how powerful you are.

The Keeper [4/4]: Come on in, I’m sure Visod would be honoured to have you in his realm. He’s the grandmaster of the afterlife, the one who accepts souls into the realm. Why don’t you speak to Bob too? I’m pretty sure he’ll recognise you.

    [Quest Book Updated]

    Notes: Improvement needed for dialogue.

Stage 3: Speak to Bob at [x,z]

    Bob [1/7]: Oh, hello there.

Bob [2/7]: Oh, it’s you. That soldier who bested my Reincarnation in combat. Welcome to the afterlife, now all the traumas of your adventures shall be forgotten. You deserve this.

Bob [3/7]: What? Dissatisfaction at your time when you were alive?

Bob [4/7]: What do you seek, young one? There is nothing left to do.

Bob [5/7]: To be fair, there may be some things that you have yet to complete.

Bob [6/7]: Bring me one [Master Catalyst] and one [Helmet of Shimmering Light].

Bob [7/7]: When you are done, your life will finally be complete.

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: The afterlife takes on the layout of Cinfras, Bob is where Jack would be standing. There is a bank in the afterlife. The scroll merchant provided sells [Hive Scrolls] (which should really be added).

Stage 4: Bring Bob one [Helmet of Shimmering Light] and one [Master Catalyst].

Bob [1/4]: You did it. Even Visod failed to defeat Qira, Mistress of the Hive. You are a hero of this realm, your life is complete.

Bob [2/4]: You still feel incomplete?

Bob [3/4]: I’ve done less than you in my entire lifetime, yet I feel complete. I feel whole.

Bob [4/4]: Maybe Visod can help you. Talk to him at [x,z], in that large clock building.

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: Visod is in the Guild Hall equivalent of this realm. Improvement needed for dialogue.

Stage 5: Speak to Visod at [x,y]

Visod [1/8]: Ah, it’s you, [Player Name]. Talk about you has spread like wildfire, I’ve heard lots of stories of you. You seem like a really great warrior, maybe even more so than Bob.

Visod [2/8]: I know you are dissatisfied with your life. So now, I’m gonna ask you a question.

Visod [3/8]: What do you really want?

Visod [4/8]: A chance to revisit the past, a chance to right your wrongs?

Visod [5/8]: Or a chance to stem the corruption from the start. Either way, the choice is yours.

Visod [6/8]: An old man on Dead Island managed to brew a potion that can project you into the life of a dead person. My magicks are far stronger than both his and those of the Temple of Time.

Visod [7/8]: I will need a [Mysterious Gem] from Time Valley. It’s magical properties are strong enough to reverse the fabric of time. You do not have to walk there, however, as the gateway to your right will bring you there in an instant.

Visod [8/8]: Next, I will need the brain of a dead warlord. I’m pretty sure you’ve fought him before, in past ventures. The gateway to The Forgery is to your left. Good luck.

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: The Scroll Merchant also sells [Afterlife Scrolls], like the ones outside the city. Improvement needed for dialogue.

Stage 6: Bring 1 [Corrupted Charon’s Brain] and 6 [Severed Hearts] to Visod.

Visod [1/5]: You have the hearts and the brain?

Visod [2/5]: Good, not even I could manage that in life.

Visod grinds the organs and brews a dark red potion using them.

Visod [3/5]: Here you go. Enter the gateway in front of you and you shall relieve your battles in life from the start. I’d advise you to bring at least 3 [Potions of Healing].

Visod [4/5]: Someone from Corkus did something like this before, but with mechs. His technology is inferior to my magic, and he will not be granted a place here. If you step into the tunnel, you will finally be whole, and you...

Visod [5/5]: ...will never be the same again..

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: Sounds cliche as fuck. Improvement needed for dialogue. There is a potion merchant next to Visod, selling level 100 healing potions and level 100 mana potions. The gate won’t let you enter unless you have at least 4 healing pots.

Stage 7: Step into the tunnel.

The tunnel pushes you into a dark, desolate void. Are you sure that Visod guy is really as great as he seems?

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: The void is a 32x32 space of any dark block.

Stage 8: Try to find someone in the void.

    ??? [1/10]: Psst! You!

??? [2/10]: What are you doing here?

??? [3/10]: Another one of Visod’s victims? You need to get out of here quickly.

??? [4/10]: The Bob out there isn’t Bob, neither is anybody you see. Nobody is real.

    ??? [5/10]: Why, you ask?

Bob [6/10]: Because I am Bob. I’m not an impersonation or an illusion, just like the one you saw out there.

Bob [7/10]: I came to seek more battle, to fulfil what I was born to do, but I ended up here.

Bob [8/10]: Visod is not what he seems. He is something much more sinister... I have felt his presence somewhere before, but it is shrouded in darkness to the point where I can’t discern what he really is.

Bob [9/10]: *cough* I have been seriously injured by him, I managed to sniff him out. I need some healing...

Bob [10/10]: Do you happen to have a spare [Potion of Healing] around?

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: Cliche as fuck too, needs improvement.

Stage 9: Give Bob a [Potion of Healing]. (You definitely bought at least 3 before you came)

Bob drinks the potion until it’s empty.

Bob [1/5]: I feel so much better now. Thanks a lot, [player name].

Bob [2/5]: When you step through that gate, you will return to the past. The very fabric of time will unfold before your eyes. However, you must face your demons before you return to the present.

Bob [3/5]: My demons are all but few, I have made a lot of enemies in my lifetime.

Bob [4/5]: I think you have fought some of them before. I’ll go with you to fight all your demons, I think I’d be a good help.

    Bob [5/5]: Whenever you’re ready.

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: Little Improvement needed on the dialogue. You finally get to fight alongside Bob. If you’re a mage, your heals affect him. If you’re a warrior, warscream affects him. If you’re an archer, escape affects him.

Stage 10: Step into the gate.

Visod [2/9]: I suppose you’re demanding an answer from me. Well, sort of.

Bob [3/9]: You Monster! Go back to th-

*Cuts to clip of Visod killing Bob via stabbing him*

Bob [4/9]: you... will pay... for wha...t you have... done...

Visod [5/9]: Don’t listen to that old fool, he got what he deserved. I’m supposing you didn’t find what you were looking for.

Visod [6/9]: This hole will show you what you have been looking for.

Visod [7/9]: The answer to the corruption and it’s beasts is hidden inside.

Visod [8/9]: The answer to the decay and all you have ever wanted is hidden inside.

Visod [9/9]: What are you waiting for?

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: Bob’s death scene requires some better dialogue.

Stage 21: Jump into the hole.

    [Quest Book Updated]

    Notes: None

    Stage 22: Explore Ancient Wynn.

    1000 BP

Young Ancient [1/5]: Woah, what are you?

Young Ancient [2/5]: You’re so much shorter than me... yet you look so much stronger!

Young Ancient [3/5]: I saw another one like you going down the west road! Are you two friends?

Young Ancient [4/5]: The west road, yeah! He seemed like he was in a hurry!

Young Ancient [5/5]: Good luck catching him!

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: Young means like a kid.

Stage 23: Find the other human at [x,y].

Visod [1/4]: You think that the Ancients were innocent and pure? Think again.
*scene cuts to the ancient trying to tear open the nether portal*

Visod [2/4]: The corruption came because of their greed. Their lust. And eventually, it led to their fall. They wanted to find a source of power, a source of wealth, instead, they only found death.

Visod [3/4]: All races eventually succumb to greed. And it’s already started for the humans. And the villagers. Soon, everyone will be gone.

Visod [4/4]: The portal shall show you the truth.

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: Ancient Wynn is actually lush and green, just like current Wynn Plains.

    Stage 24: Enter the portal.

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: Nothing much, just enter the nether portal.

    Stage 25: Watch the destruction.

*clip cuts to the ancients being destroyed idk much about ancient lore but yeah*
*then cut to the stronger ancients sealing the portal with their bodies and red stone*

Visod [1/2]: Their efforts will be in vain, later when greed overtakes our race.

Visod [2/2]: Don’t believe me? We shall see.

    [Quest Book Updated]

    Notes: Visod needs better dialogue.

    Stage 26: Watch the destruction.

*cut to the humans mining into the portal*
*cut to the destruction of the cities*

Visod [1/1]: See? Everything is civilisation’s fault. Our fault.

    [Quest Book Updated]

    Notes: Visod needs better dialogue.

Stage 27: Speak to young Visod.

    *cut to ancient ragni

Young Visod [1/6]: Hey, I found out something. Did you know that the king collects more than he should? I’ve done my math and I found that out.

Young Visod [2/6]: I’m gonna expose him in The Central Square later!

Young Visod [3/6] I can get his army to turn against him, and we’ll be free from his tyranny!

Visod [4/6]: I was the only one who knew.

*cut to young visod outside the palace with a crowd around him*

Visod [5/6]: Yet, they ridiculed me. They treated me like a nobody.

*cut to young visod being chased down by soldiers

Visod [6/6]: I was forced to flee. Then I found the portal. I entered, and I became a new person. Well,

*Cut to Bak’al exiting the portal*

Bak’al [1/2]: Well, I suppose you know who I am now, huh? Life is full of surprises, but it too does have an end.

Bak’al [2/2]: Bob did defeat me once, but it’s been [100-400] years, a simple recovery doesn’t take that long. I’ve grown so much stronger, my power is limitless. Bob’s gone, and so will you be in a few minutes. With everything that you’ve given me, do you really think you can stop me?

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: Fuck, that last line was cheesy as hell.

    Stage 28: Kill Bak’al

Bak’al [1/3]: Humans are a pest on this world, all of you must die!

Bak’al [2/3]: You are all corrupt, greedy, destructive and terrible!

Bak’al [3/3]: I WILL SLAUGHTER EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU UNTIL YOU ARE ALL EXTINCT!

    Boss Info:
    HP: 950,000
    HPR: 17000 every 10 seconds
    Forms: 1
    Damage: 1000-1500 Earth
    1000-1500 Thunder
    1000-1500 Water
    1000-1500 Fire
    1000-1500 Air
    Weak: None
    Dam: All
    Def: 1000 in all
    Attack Type: Both
    Movement Speed: Normal
    Spells: Flamethrower, Teleport, Meteor
    Attack Speed: Normal
    Drops: [Vengeant Will]

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: This Boss is Meant to be INSANELY hard, to be virtually unsoloable. You need a party for this.

    Stage 29. Speak to Bak’al.

Bak’al [1/6]: You... you... how did you do it?

Bak’al [2/6]: There is no mortal man who ever possessed that sort of power, not even Bob!

Bak’al [3/6]: You’re none like any other human, greedy, possessive, destructive.

Bak’al [4/6]: I may finally have been killed and put to rest, but my will for vengeance will never leave this mortal coil.

Bak’al [5/6]: I will eventually be back, and so will the genocide of the human race.

Bak’al [6/6]: And when I’m back, you will be the first man I’m coming for, [player name].

Bak’al fades away into dust. [I DON’T FEEL SO GOOD]

    +1 Bak’al’s remnant’s

    [Quest Book Updated]

Notes: Give him better dialogue. Also you Teleport to Ragni after you’re done with Bak’al’s Battle.

Stage 30: Speak to Bob in the Afterlife.

Bob [1/9]: Ah, it’s you. The person who I fought both alongside and against.

Bob [2/9]: I have finally been put to proper rest, not in some fake purgatory of an afterlife.

Bob [3/9]: I never managed to accomplish my quest of killing Bak’al, but you completed it for me.

Bob [4/9]: I will be eternally grateful to you, whether you be in death or life.

Bob [5/9]: In the Afterlife, there is no currency. There is no trade here, for all is abundant.

Bob [6/9]: However, I have something else to give to you. This key can give you one of teo things of your choice, but only one.

Bob [7/9]: If you go through the left door, you will be granted access between life and the afterlife. There, you will be able to buy scrolls that regenerate your soul points.

Bob [8/9]: If you go through the right door, you will receive a helm stronger than any metal or rock known to man. It’s power is limitless, it’s strength hitherto undreamt of.

Bob [9/9]: Whichever choice you make, I will forever be honoured to have met someone like you.

Notes: Fuck me man, this needs better dialogue.

    QUEST COMPLETED!
    ————It All Ends Here————
    Rewards: 1 Bob’s Token
    7M EXP

The helmet is mythic, but it’s not as strong as mythic Boots, it’s just a generic helmet.

    Stats: https://wynndata.tk/ci/Custom-622096555
Also it has a quest req

TL;DR The player goes to fake heaven and meets Bak’al who’s posing as God, then he’s sent to a dungeon with Bob and they fight like a shit ton of bosses together. Then Bak’al kills Bob and a brief history of Wynn is shown. Then the player kills Bak’al, talks to Bob and either gets SP regen scrolls or a fucking badass helmet.

Now I know this seems pretty shit, and everything bout it is shit, but it’s a nice concept. Please criticise everything criticisable. Thanks

The quest overall feels too fetchy, long, and overcomplicated.

First, the story. Why did you type the dialogue when you yourself point out how bad it is? Just don't write dialogue then and write a brief summary of the situation. That's it. No context is given for the situation, and there's no reason for the player to go there initially. The afterlife was never established in the lore, so why would it just be shoved awkwardly into the last quest? And given that Reincarnation was probably already set in heaven/the afterlife, it just makes everything more confusing.

There are just a bunch of stupid or nonsensical moments such as:

Bak'al gets kicked out of Ragni because he is somehow the only person who is self-aware of poverty and financial inequality in the middle ages. Which he might as well just have gotten kicked out because he said that water was wet; it's just so obvious and stupid to say. And him saying he knows because he did "math" makes absolute zero sense.

Bob getting trapped by Bak'al is never explained and just seems random and contradictory to everything

It's a copypaste of the Decay story that "EVytHINg IS SHiT jUST BEcauSE of GREED!!! THErE'S NOthING yOU CAN DO ABout IT, ESTABLISH COMMUNISM!!"

The whole greed aspect of Gavel is the worst part about it because it makes zero sense and is ultimately just an excuse to hamfist a moral lesson in and not change the status quo, which makes everything boring.

The worst part about the story is that we never actually stop the corruption or learn what it actually is and what's causing it, which I thought was the whole point of this quest.

    Now onto the gameplay:

This quest is just fetchy and a rehash of old bosses. 1. We already have legendary island. and 2. You picked the worst bosses to refight too like Narageth. Also, it's not good to assume that people may have a certain item. I mean potions could be safe, but just in case it's not worth the risk.

Overall, I just don't like the concept at all. I would just start from scratch.

From what I got by quickly reading 5 or 6 words from each phrase:
    Boss Rush

Eh to be fair, it would be fun to see a Boss Rush Mode in the way of Cave Story+'s
You start with almost no gear but as you beat bosses you get new gear to choose and put on (unlocking the gear would go through defeating the bosses, which will unlock the level range between a boss and next boss)

This just feels very pretentious and doesn't have a place in the game at all. We already have Legendary Island, we don't need another boss rush.

    fixed ^^^

Another ToA/Qira Hive/LI, Also Bak'al would just be an annoying af bullet sponge that hits like a truck (1000 rainbow def with 950000 HP 1000-1500 rainbow dam? lolno)

More "greed causes everything bad" ugh i still hate fortunteller for thaat horrible explanation of the rupturing of the sky islands, and aldorei quests for making greed the cause of the decay (yes, corruption in Wynn was sorta caused by greed cuz they dug too low looking for emeralds and whatnot, but it never said greed was the cataclysmic even that opened it)

Mythic as a quest reward? no

    alright then
well i’d still like a bak’al boss fight sometime and for everything to tie up so we don’t end the game without the corruption shit

But he just ends like Narageth; a generic Satan that always comes back no matter how stupid it is like Jason from Friday the 13th. And again, nothing in the status quo changes; the corruption is still consuming Wynn and we still don’t reakly know what’s behind it.

i mean not just like naragath
the difference between naragath and bak’al is that bak’al has a story going on before his battle and he isn’t just introduced and killed in one quest
naragath is just “oh hey there’s this generic Satan dude who wants to kill everyone”
bak’al actually has a story, he’s not a giant hand that came out of the ground, he’s a human who became corrupt. maybe without the afterlife and all the other shit, but he does need a little bit of explanation about himself, it’s kind of bad that he’s talked about so much in the lore yet we don’t ever get to fight him.

and also, bak’al is actually killable, he’s biologically immortal, but killable. naragath will come back whenever he dies because he’s a generic Satan, someone without form.

True, but he ends up being exactly like Narageth. It doesn't matter if he can be killed; both will always just end up coming back for the convenience.

It would be interesting to find out Bak'al's backstory, but it shouldn't be done this way in a single quest.

why do you say he’ll come back for convenience? if he’s killed at the very end of the game then he won’t come back...

i agree with you on his backstory tho

Well, he did say that "he'll always come back." Sure, it's technically the end of the game, but story-wise we didn't truly defeat him. That's the whole problem with the corruption and decay; the status quo never meaningfully changes even though we completed all the quests and dungeons.

I would actually like to see something like this, but without the fetch crap and boss rush. Somebody told me that once you have all the secret discoveries you can go into the forest monument and fight Bak'al, but when I found out that was BS, i was very disappointed. I definitely think he should be brought back as a quest boss.
