Is Wynncraft Hard?

Wynncraft really is lacking in Endgame Challenges except for HIC.

 

I'd say Wynncraft is easy overall, except if you're talking about high tier bosses and the leveling of proffesions (mad lad who thought having to farm that much is normal).

 

IMO that’s a bigger problem with game design rather than balance

I feel like there's still more to talk about here.
Specifically, we have all talked about how optional content needs to be harder, but not how we will pull that off.

 

I'm a lvl.98 mage, I didn't complete the qira hive (I need to begin the water division) and I didn't even go to the LI, but overall, the game is pretty easy, except for some ridiculous difficulty spikes: The Passage altar boss, the CoW (this was a tutorial for how to deal with hard bosses tbh) and some things like the Psychomancer (I still have PTSD from when I tried to kill it at level 80, currently the hardest boss I fought). There are some bosses or enemies that are way stronger than the average experience you have, but overall, I can kill everything in 1-3 meteors.

I hope the Eldrich Outlook is hard when it comes out, the dungeons are pretty average in terms of difficulty (except maybe corrupted ice barrows).

 

Most of the difficulty you seem to be having is due to having a bad build.

 

I feel most of us on forums are quite old and seasoned players, for a lot of us we were already quite high level when all these new updates came out so we were prepared and when we did grind new classes we knew everything the game would throw at us

 

for a newer player: yes

for an older player who has been here for quite some time, experienced so many changes, and knows the game like the back of their hand?: no

in terms of endgame challenges, Pride of the Aerie is definitely difficult overall. wybel is easy with the right build tbh (ive soloed him with a shitty torrential tide build).

 

I don't really think any game, much less an MMO can be "hard" when it has a leveling system like Wynn does. When the whole point is progression and all challenges are optional, there's no real way to get stuck. If you have a hard time doing something, just level up, get better gear and try again. From that point of view, I guess you could say the game as a whole is easy.

That being said, by the same line of reasoning the game can be as difficult as you want it to be. If you want to be a YYGamer and take on LI 128+ times using actual garbage, there isn't anything stopping you from doing that.

To me, MMO's are all about choice, so I think giving people the ability to chose their difficulty is perfectly fine. Personally, I like to get as OP as possible on my own, so I generally found Wynn extremely easy after I learned how to play each class but I can imagine lots of people having a completely different experience and finding the game much harder.
