i need to know how to do it for making animated textures for my texture packs
I dont know myself, but just download a MCMETA file and edit it with Notepad++
Just rename your file
Start Windows Explorer, you can do this by opening up any folder.
Click Folder and search options.
Click the View tab.
Scroll down until you notice Hide extensions for known file types, un-check this line by clicking the check box.
Now right click on your file, and right click it
Press "rename", you should get something like name.txt
Use your arrow keys to navigate to the extension part (.txt)
Leave the dot, remove the txt and replace it with mcmeta, then press ENTER
A window should pop up, just press continue
Your file should be mcmeta now.
If it doesnt work or you need anything else, pm me or quote me on here
Just change the .txt extension to an .mcmeta one
Don't listen to these idiots. When you open it, click file and go to save as. Of course you name it 'pack.mcmeta' but, at the bottom is says "save as .txt file' or something. Click the drop box and save it as 'All Files'. Simply renaming it wouldn't have worked for windows 10.
